You'll collaborate closely with product and tech to craft elegant backend systems that scale as fast as we do.\nWhat You’ll Do\nYou'll own the infrastructure for a product that real finance teams rely on every day.\nFor us, infrastructure is not just about uptime; it's about reliability, security, and trust - especially when money and automation are involved. The platform has to be boring in the best possible way: predictable, observable, and safe to deploy to.\nIn a typical week, you might:\nEvolve our infrastructure-as-code to add a service, a queue, or a whole new environment.\n\nImprove our CI/CD pipelines so engineers ship safely and fast, dozens of times a day.\n\nInvestigate a production issue: a latency spike, a failing deploy, a database under load.\n\nStrengthen observability with dashboards, alerts, and traces, so we catch problems before customers do.\n\nHarden our security, secrets management, and access controls.\n\nTune cost and performance across our AWS footprint.\n\nYour time will be split between building new platform capabilities and making what already exists more reliable. Both matter.\nYou'll help shape the foundation that everything else stands on: the pipelines, environments, and guardrails that let engineers and our AI agents act safely in production.\nYou'll work closely with backend, frontend, and the AI team. We expect you to take ownership of the platform and make it more reliable over time, not wait for tickets.\nOur current tech reality\nOur stack evolves based on our challenges, but we care more about good design than trendy tools\nWe're an AWS shop, and we lean on managed services and infrastructure-as-code so the system is reproducible and easy to reason with. A growing part of our world is making the backend a set of reliable, deterministic tools that AI agents can call, which raises the bar on reliability even further.\nCloud: AWS\n\nInfra-as-code: Pulumi (Python)\n\nCompute: ECS + Lambda, serverless when it makes sense\n\nData: PostgreSQL on RDS/Aurora\n\nCI/CD: GitLab CI\n\nOrchestration: Airflow (MWAA)\n\nObservability: Grafana Cloud, CloudWatch, Sentry\n\nAuth & identity: Cognito, IAM\n\nEdge & frontend: API Gateway, ALB, AWS Amplify for the web app\n\nSome of this is clean, version-controlled, and reproducible. Closing that gap is a big part of why this role exists.\nOver the next year, we'll focus on:\nMaking every environment reproducible from code\n\nBetter observability and alerting, fewer surprises\n\nTightening the security and compliance posture that comes with handling enterprise finance data\n\nFaster, safer deploys\n\nKeeping AWS costs sane as we scale\n\nRequirements\nWhat we’re looking for\n5+ years of experience with Python or any other OOP language\n\nBackend expertise: APIs, microservices, architecture best practices\n\nDatabases & SQL: Data modeling, query optimization\n\nGit lover: Comfortable with version control and code reviews\n\nPragmatic engineering mindset: Build, test, refine, simplify-smart shortcuts when time is tight\n\nBonus points if you’ve worked on:\nB2B SaaS or finance/ERP tools\n\nBaaS APIs or payment infra\n\nServerless, AWS, event-driven architecture exposure\n\nWho's going to thrive with us\nYou'll probably feel comfortable here if:\nYou think in systems and instinctively automate yourself out of repetitive work.\n\nYou treat infrastructure as code, not as pets.\n\nYou stay calm during incidents and are genuinely good at root-causing.\n\nYou care about security, because you're handling other people's money.\n\nYou are autonomous and take ownership of what you ship.\n\nYou take initiative and lead by example.\n\nYou're pragmatic about trade-offs.\n\nYou communicate with kindness and clarity.\n\nYou don't need to know everything about AI -
