In this role, you will drive technical architecture, mentor teammates and collaborate closely with cross-functional partners to deliver robust solutions. \nYou’ll champion engineering best practices, proactively identify areas for improvement and lead efforts to ensure system reliability, performance and a seamless customer experience. \nLocation: Gurgaon-India \nHybrid - Full-time What you’ll do \nDesign and implement robust, scalable, and maintainable backend solutions for complex scenarios, ensuring high-quality results that may be consumed by other teams. \nCollaborate effectively within your team and with cross-functional partners, such as Product, Design/UX, DevOps, and other R&D teams, representing your team as needed. \nMaintain and improve the team's engineering practices, suggesting and implementing technology, patterns, or process enhancements. \nProactively identify areas of improvement in team systems, processes, and scalability.\nLead by example in code quality, contributing significantly to code reviews and acting as a focal point for engineering excellence questions. \nHelp monitor production systems, investigate potential issues, and lead efforts to resolve critical production challenges while maintaining a customer-centric approach. \nWho you are \n4+ years in backend software engineering roles, with demonstrated ability to navigate technical trade-offs and ambiguity effectively. \nProficiency in C#, Java, or similar object-oriented languages. \nHands-on knowledge of relational databases like SQL Server. \nExperience with message queues or streaming platforms (e.g., RabbitMQ, SQS, Kaffia). \nStrong experience writing unit tests and ensuring high test coverage. \nStrong knowledge of data structures and algorithms. \nExperience with microservices architecture. \nExperience in designing new functionality for existing complex components while maintaining scalability and performance. \nAbility to collaborate effectively and communicate technical concepts to diverse stakeholders. \nBA/BSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience. \nWhat could set you apart \nPractical experience with Agile development methodologies. \nFamiliarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud). \nHands-on knowledge of non-relational databases like MongoDB. \nExperience in mentoring new hires and interns, fostering a culture of collaboration and best practice. \n#LI-AK1\nThe Payoneer Ways of Working \nAct as our customer’s partner on the inside\nLearning what they need and creating what will help them go further. \nDo it.
