The Tax Manager will play a key role in supporting Payoneer’s global indirect tax compliance strategy, providing technical expertise as an internal advisor, and collaborating cross-functionally to ensure the Company maintains compliance with complex VAT/GST regulations globally.\nThe ideal candidate will have strong indirect tax technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and demonstrated experience in managing indirect tax matters for a large-scale organization.\nThe Indirect Tax Manager will report to the Indirect Tax Senior Manager as well as work closely with the senior leadership of the organization.\nWhat you’ll do:\nSupport the implementation and execution of global indirect tax strategies across all business units and geographic regions\nProvide technical training and guidance on complex indirect tax matters to stakeholders throughout the organization\nCollaborate closely with various departments, including but not limited to Legal, Procurement, Finance, Data, and Product, to ensure VAT/GST requirements are incorporated into business processes and systems\nReview and advise on customer and vendor contract language to ensure accuracy and compliance with indirect taxation\nHelp develop and implement monitoring processes to track global indirect tax compliance status and identify potential risks\nAnalyze the VAT/GST treatment of new products, services and markets, including financial services exemptions and cross-border digital services\nAssist controllers around the globe with local VAT/GST returns, ensuring accuracy and timely submission across multiple jurisdictions\nSupport indirect tax audits and help manage relationships with tax authorities\nMonitor and analyze tax legislation developments, including e-invoicing and digital reporting requirements, affecting the Company’s VAT/GST tax profile, and translate them into practical business and system requirements\nManage relationships with external tax advisors and consultants, coordinating their work and implementing their recommendations\nIdentify opportunities to automate and improve indirect tax processes, including through tax technology and AI tools\nIdentify, research, and document tax positions\nWhat we’re looking for:\n5+ years of international indirect tax (VAT/GST) experience across multiple jurisdictions, including experience in a public company or public accounting/“Big 4” environment\nLL.B. / qualified attorney - preferred; a degree in Accounting or CPA qualification is a strong advantage (candidates with a combined legal and accounting background are especially encouraged to apply)\nDemonstrated experience supporting indirect tax functions and processes\nExperience in fintech, payments, or financial services sector is an advantage\nAbility to understand the business environment and apply the relevant tax principles, using practical methods to support the business owners’ needs and be able to clearly articulate those methods to relevant stakeholders\nCreative thinking and out of the box solutions for complicated processes\nExcellent analytical and technical tax skills, with strong hands-on proficiency in Excel\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills in English\nAbility to work independently and efficiently collaborate with international teams and process owners, and manage relationships with external advisors\nReliable, trustworthy, high level of integrity with strong service orientation\nAbility to thrive in a fast-paced environment impacted by regulatory developments, organizational changes, and controversy\nThe Payoneer Ways of Working \nAct as our customer’s partner on the inside\nLearning what they need and creating what will help them go further. \nDo it.
