The successful candidate will act as the local Operations PoC in Japan, partnering closely with GTM, Compliance, Legal, Product, KYC, and Customer Care teams to identify business and customer pain points, translate regulatory requirements into practical solutions, and drive strategic programs from concept through execution.\nThe role requires a highly consultative professional who can influence stakeholders, navigate ambiguity, and balance customer experience, business growth, operational scalability, and regulatory compliance.\nFull-time | Hybrid | Tokyo\nWhat you’ll do\nServe as the voice of the Japan market, building deep understanding of local customer needs, business priorities, operational challenges, and market trends to influence global decision-making.\nAct as the primary Operations partner for Japan, collaborating closely with GTM, Compliance, Product, KYC, Customer Care, and regional leadership teams to drive business outcomes.\nLead regulatory and licensing readiness initiatives, translating evolving Japanese regulatory requirements into scalable operational processes, controls, and customer journeys.\nIdentify and drive solutions for customer and operational pain points, partnering with cross-functional teams to improve onboarding, servicing experiences, operational efficiency, and risk management.\nRepresent local business requirements in global programs and product roadmaps, ensuring Japan-specific needs are appropriately prioritized and addressed.\nEngage with external stakeholders, including regulatory advisors, industry partners, and local vendors, to evaluate solutions and support strategic decision-making.\nDrive cross-functional transformation programs from concept to execution, managing stakeholder alignment, governance, risk mitigation, and operational readiness\nWho you are -\n7+ years of experience in management consulting, business transformation, operations strategy, regulatory consulting, financial services, fintech, or related fields.\nStrong understanding of the Japanese financial services ecosystem and regulatory environment.\nDemonstrated experience leading complex cross-functional initiatives involving multiple business and operational stakeholders.\nExperience translating business, operational, and regulatory requirements into practical solutions.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, stakeholder management, and program management skills.\nNative or fluent Japanese and business-level English.\nThe Payoneer Ways of Working \nAct as our customer’s partner on the inside\nLearning what they need and creating what will help them go further. \nDo it.
