We’d love your help.\nAbout the role\nPaystack is looking for a Senior Accounting Analyst to help build a world-class financial reporting and control function across Nigeria and our expansion markets. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting, while building scalable processes that support the company's rapid growth.\nYou will work closely with Finance, Treasury, Risk, Product, and Operations teams to deliver high-quality financial insights, maintain strong internal controls, and ensure seamless month-end close processes across multiple entities.\nYou will own the end-to-end financial reporting lifecycle from transaction recording to management reporting, ensuring alignment with group reporting standards and compliance with applicable accounting frameworks. This includes managing complex reconciliations, resolving banking and treasury-related issues, and driving audit readiness across all entities.\nThis is a full-time role based in Nigeria, reporting directly to the Finance Leadership team.\nWe’ll trust you to\nFinancial Reporting & Month-End Close\nOwn the preparation of monthly management accounts across Nigeria and expansion entities, including full P&L and Balance Sheet review.\n\nDrive the month-end close process (BD timelines), ensuring timely and accurate reporting while continuously improving close efficiency and reducing turnaround time.\n\nBalance Sheet Integrity\nLead all balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accounts are fully supported and variances are identified, investigated, and resolved promptly.\n\nManage complex reconciliations across bank accounts, intercompany balances, and operational accounts.\n\nBanking & Treasury Operations\nOversee bank statement validation, reconciliation, and issue resolution across multiple banking partners.\n\nIdentify and resolve issues such as missing transactions, delayed statements, and reconciliation breaks.\n\nProvide clear visibility into cash positions through monthly cash reporting.\n\nIntercompany & Group Reporting\nPrepare and maintain intercompany schedules, ensuring accurate reconciliation and elimination across entities\n\nAlign all financial reporting with group requirements and ensure consistency with global accounting standards\n\nGeneral Ledger Accuracy\nEnsure all financial transactions are accurately recorded in Oracle ERP Cloud and other accounting systems\n\nReview and approve journal entries, maintain proper documentation, and enforce strong internal controls over financial data\n\nAudit & Compliance\nLead audit preparation by developing schedules and supporting documentation for internal and external audits\n\nAct as the primary point of contact for auditors, ensuring timely resolution of audit queries and maintaining audit readiness at all times\n\nFinancial Insights & Analysis\nProvide detailed analysis on revenue, cost drivers, and overall business performance\n\nPrepare reports such as P&L flux, net revenue analysis, and variance analysis to support strategic decision-making by leadership\n\nProcess Optimisation & Collaboration\nIdentify inefficiencies in financial reporting and reconciliation workflows, and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy, scalability, and speed\n\nDrive automation and standardisation across entities\n\nPartner with Treasury, Product, Operations, and cross-functional teams to resolve financial issues, support new initiatives, and improve overall financial processes\n\nImprove financial reporting timelines, strengthen internal controls, and proactively identify risks and implement controls to mitigate them\n\nYou’ll thrive in this role if you have\n5+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or commercial finance roles\n\nStrong understanding of financial reporting, including P&L, Balance Sheet, and cash flow analysis\n\nProven experience managing month-end close processes in a fast-paced environment\n\nExperience with ERP systems, particularly Oracle ERP Cloud\n\nAdvanced proficiency in Excel for data analysis and reconciliations\n\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail\n\nAbility to manage multiple entities and deliver under tight deadlines\n\nExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills\n\nBonus points if you have\nExperience in fintech, payments, or financial services environments\n\nExposure to multi-country or expansion market reporting\n\nFamiliarity with US GAAP and/or IFRS reporting standards\n\nExperience working with large-scale reconciliations and banking operations\n\nExposure to tools such as Metabase, Tableau, or SQL for financial analysis\n\nProven track record of improving financial processes and reducing reporting timelines\n\nBenefits\nCompetitive compensation package and benefits\n\n13th month bonus\n\nTSG Equity compensation\n\nFull medical coverage\n\nWellbeing stipend\n\nGenerous leave and sabbatical policies\n\nHybrid working environment\n\nSmart, kind colleagues who are invested in your growth.\n\nPaystack is an equal opportunity employer and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any kind.
