Working collaboratively with senior leadership and business stakeholders, this role leads complex budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, variance analysis, and management reporting activities.\nThe Senior Financial Analyst serves as a trusted business partner, providing financial guidance and recommendations to support operational and strategic decisions. The role is responsible for identifying trends, risks, and opportunities, developing actionable insights, and enhancing financial planning and reporting processes. The incumbent also contributes to continuous improvement initiatives, supports cross-functional projects, and may provide mentorship and technical guidance to other finance team members.\nKey Accountabilities:\nFinancial Planning, Forecasting & Modeling\nLead the development and maintenance of complex financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, and strategic decision-making.\nPrepare and manage annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and multi-year financial plans, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.\nPerform scenario modeling, sensitivity analysis, and risk assessments to evaluate financial impacts of business strategies, operational changes, and investment decisions.\nDevelop business cases and financial analyses to support strategic initiatives, capital investments, and organizational priorities.\nFinancial Analysis, Reporting and Decision Support\nLead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc financial reporting packages.\nConduct detailed variance analysis of actual results against budget, forecast, and prior-year performance, identifying key drivers, trends, risks, and opportunities.\nTranslate complex financial and operational data into actionable insights and recommendations that support informed decision-making.\nAnalyze financial performance metrics and key business drivers to assess organizational effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement.\nStrategic Business Partnership\nServe as a trusted financial advisor to business leaders, providing strategic financial guidance and decision support across operational and corporate initiatives.\nPartner with cross-functional teams to understand operational drivers, assess financial impacts, and develop solutions that improve business performance.\nLead financial analysis related to new initiatives, service expansions, cost optimization opportunities, and organizational transformation projects.\nPresent financial insights, recommendations, and strategic options to management.\nAdvanced Financial Systems & Process Improvement\nLead the enhancement and optimization of financial models, reporting tools, and ERP system.\nIdentify and implement opportunities to automate reporting, improve data quality, and increase the efficiency and transparency of financial planning activities.\nSupport the development of standardized reporting frameworks, dashboards, and performance metrics to strengthen financial management and decision-making capabilities.\nAd-hoc Analysis & Special Projects\nLead complex financial analyses and special projects.\nProvide technical guidance, and subject matter expertise to team members and cross-functional stakeholders.\nSupport initiatives through rigorous financial evaluation, performance measurement, and benefits realization analysis.\nPrepare presentations and supporting materials that effectively communicate financial performance, and business impacts.\nOther duties as assigned. \nRequired Experience and Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field required\nProfessional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) (preferred but not required)\nMinimum of 5 years’ of progressive financial analysis and reporting experience, or related roles. \nStrong understanding of financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting techniques.\nExcellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.\nAbility to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines.\nProficiency in financial software and ERP systems (e.g., Workday).\nAdvanced Excel and financial modeling skills.\nA combination of education and experience may be considered.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience with ERP/BI tools (e.g., Workday Adaptive, Power BI, Tableau) is an asset.\nExperience in information technology is an asset.\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:\nAnalytical and detail-oriented with strong business acumen.\nProactive, collaborative, and able to build strong relationships across the organization.\nEffective communicator-able to translate financial data into meaningful insights.\nContinuous improvement mindset with adaptability to changing business needs.\nProven ability to manage multiple priorities and work under tight deadlines.\nSelf-motivated and able to work effectively autonomously and in a team-oriented environment.\nExcellent time-management and organizational skills with great attention to detail\nQuick learner and adaptable to an ever-changing environment\nBehavioural Competencies:\nEffective Communication\nStrong Analytical Thinking\nAction Oriented\nEnsuring Accountability \nOrganizational Savvy \nProblem Solving\nMultiple Demands and Time Management \nTravel/Work Location:\nPBC Solutions has offices in Saanichton (a suburb of Victoria) and Burnaby, BC. The base salary range for this position is $76,800 - $115,200.
