The primary focus of this position is to support local Bay Area Air Quality Management District (BAAQMD), California Air Resources Board, and Federal EPA Air compliance.\nThe Environmental Engineer - Air reports to the Refinery Environmental Affairs Manager and will be part of a team covering all aspects of refinery environmental matters. The Environmental Engineer - Air works closely with operations, maintenance, inspection, other engineering disciplines, and contractors to ensure that environmental requirements are clearly understood and conveyed throughout the organization.\nThe Environmental Engineer - Air also works to continuously improve MRC’s environmental management systems and environmental performance.\nJob Responsibilities May Include:\nOversees and provides general coordination for the refinery to ensure compliance with the Title V permitting program and relevant Federal, State and District air regulations.\nMonitors refinery operations related to assigned environmental program, develops indicators of performance, identifies trends, and supports the refinery in meeting environmental objectives and goals.\nPrepares and submits compliance reports to local, state, and federal agencies which includes technical components and written communication, including Title V reporting.\nEvaluates priority and urgency of tasks/projects related to environmental compliance to manage workload and to provide guidance to internal personnel on when deliverables are needed.\nSupports/backfills other environmental media functions in air, water, and waste\nNote: Air programs may include RMACT I, RMACT II, BWON, CEMS, NSPS Ja, NESHAP BB, RICE MACT, Boiler/Process Heater MACT, Tanks, LDAR, and Release Reporting.\nLead and participate in agency inspections, compliance/enforcement action, and internal audits\nDevelop and deliver training to MRC personnel and contractors on permit, regulatory, and corporate requirements\nSupport/backfill other environmental media functions in air, water, and waste\nPosition Specific Requirements:\nParticipate in the refinery on-call environmental duty rotation and respond to refinery during environmental incidents.\nAvailable in off hours and days to respond to refinery issues or emergencies, including on-call emergency response functions.\nMix of computer-based office work and field inspection and testing in refinery plant units\nPhysical Requirements:Climb ladders\nWalk up and down steps\nLift 50 pounds\n\nWork in the Following Conditions:At heights\n\nOutside in inclement weather\nWork Schedule:\nOccasionally an altered work schedule over an extended period may be required (maintenance outages and turnarounds)\nPossess a valid Drivers’ License\nCandidate must have active TWIC card or be able to obtain a TWIC card.
