We are seeking a talented Lead Process Engineer to join our team as a pivotal member that would play a key role here at PBF Energy. This role would be located in our Chalmette Refinery in Chalmette, LA in the greater New Orleans area.\nThe Lead Process Engineer provides engineering support for assigned areas and direction to Unit Process Engineers. In addition, this position will be required to lead complex refinery troubleshooting and technical planning efforts for the Refinery and ensure all assigned Unit Process Engineers are capable of supporting the Refinery Business Teams.\nPRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES\nDirectly supervise a team of six Process Engineers and seasonal Cooperative Education and Interns.\nLead multi-disciplinary teams and serve as a technical leader.\nMentor and support Process Engineers, including the Co-Ops/Interns, in day-to-day and strategic tasks.\nEnsure the continuity and maintenance of key monitoring programs, such as long-term monitoring, material balances, and kinetic modeling.\nFocus on refinery optimization, especially across multiple areas and Business Teams.\nInterface with Business Teams to ensure the Process Engineers are meeting the needs of the business and take the lead on priorities/projects that are outside of the Process Engineers’ abilities.\nUnderstand operating constraints and economic aspects of assigned process areas.\nIntervene in troubleshooting when needs extend beyond the Business Team’s knowledge or Process Engineer’s experience level and/or involves multiple units.\nSupport unit process engineers with turnaround preparation, execution, and post turnaround follow up.\nAdministrative responsibilities, including employee performance evaluations and Workday authority.\nWork with Process Engineering Manager to identify and budget employee training to fulfill knowledge and skill advancement.\nWork with the Process Engineering Manager on recruitment (both full-time and Co-Ops).\nSupport incident investigations.\nPerform preliminary scoping and evaluation of improvement projects.\nJOB QUALIFICATIONS\nB.S. in Chemical Engineering\n7+ years minimum relevant experience in Process Engineering\nDemonstrated leadership and mentorship ability.\nEffective communication skills.\nCapable of interfacing with multiple departments to drive and steward common goals.\nStrong hands-on commitment balanced with the ability to delegate and let the Unit Process Engineer be the “go-to person”.\nPassionate attitude with an innovative mind frame.\nThis description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee.\nWe thank all respondents for their interest in PBF Holding Company LLC (“PBF Energy”); however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
