We are seeking a talented Transportation Assistant to join our team as a pivotal member that would play a key role here at PBF Energy. This role would be located onsite at our Company headquarters in Parsippany, NJ.The Transportation Analyst provides cross-modal analytical, invoice-processing, and reporting support for the Transportation and Commercial Infrastructure organization.\nThe position reviews and processes transportation and storage-related invoices, coordinates month-end accruals with Accounting, follows up on billing discrepancies and claims, and supports performance reporting across Rail, Marine, Truck, Transloading, and Storage & Terminals.\nPRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES\nReview, validate, code, and process transportation and storage vendor invoices, including:\nTransportation equipment leases, rentals, and subleases\nFreight, handling, and movement charges\nTransloading, throughput, and facility-service charges\nThird-party terminal and infrastructure fees\nInspection, testing, and related service fees\nDemurrage, detention, waiting time, and other accessorial charges\nOther transportation and storage-related charges\n\nVerify invoices against contracts, rates, tariffs, shipment records, and supporting documentation.\nResearch and resolve invoice discrepancies with vendors, Accounting, and internal stakeholders.\nTrack open claims, disputed charges, credits, and recoveries through resolution.\nCoordinate month-end transportation and storage accruals with PBF Accounting.\nSupport budget-to-actual reporting and cost reconciliation.\nSupport Transportation and Commercial Infrastructure team members with invoice validation, vendor follow-up, and transportation management service reporting.\nCollect, validate, and maintain cross-modal transportation metrics and supporting data.\nAssist with recurring reports covering cost, service reliability, utilization, demurrage, detention, cycle time, and other approved KPIs.\nMaintain organized and auditable records for invoices, accruals, claims, credits, and supporting documentation.\nPerform other duties and special projects as assigned.\nQUALIFICATIONS\nDegree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.\n2+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, accounting, invoice processing, supply chain, or an analytical role.\nOil, energy, refining, chemicals, transportation, or bulk-commodity experience preferred.\nStrong analytical, accounting, and problem-solving skills.\nHigh attention to detail and data accuracy.\nStrong organizational and time-management skills.\nAbility to manage multiple and competing priorities.\nAbility to work independently and collaboratively across functions.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel.\nWorking knowledge of SAP preferred.\nExperience with Power BI, Tableau, or transportation reporting systems is a plus.\nThis position is on site 5 days a week.\nONLY CANDIDATES MEETING THE ABOVE REQUIREMENTS WILL BE CONSIDERED.\n FOR SERIOUS CONSIDERATION, PLEASE INCLUDE YOUR SALARY REQUIREMENTS.\nThe salary range for this position is $50,411.61 - $81,974.93. The compensation range listed in this posting is in compliance with applicable state law. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, job-related skills andinternal peer equity will be considered in determining the selected candidate’s compensation. Salaries at the time of hire are typically in the lower to middle portion of the above range in order to provide the opportunity to reflect future performance-based increases.
