Our content channels are available for free on internet-connected screens through the PBS and PBS KIDS App, as well as seven local broadcast channels including PBS SoCal and PBS SoCal Plus.\nA donor-supported community institution, PBS SoCal sparks the sharing of ideas at in-person cultural events and community conversations as well as delivers social impact through services that prepare our most vulnerable children for school.\nJob Overview\nThis regular, full-time, exempt position reports directly to the SVP, Finance & Administration of PBS SoCal and is responsible for supervision and oversight of all studio and office facilities. This position is responsible for facilities maintenance and management, fleet management, storage and facility calendaring. The Facilities Manager must regularly use independence and discretion in the execution of duties with limited supervision.\nPrimary Duties/Responsibilities:\nFacilities and Fleet Management\nManagement of all company vehicles including maintenance, insurance, licensing and usage. \nManagement of all building-related issues for all locations including Mt. Wilson owned building - conduit with maintenance and engineering staff using requests online.\nLead all HVAC related maintenance items for supplemental units. \nLead all UPS related maintenance items for space in parking structure that supports studio\nKeep facilities organized and continue to purge equipment or documents that are at end of life. \nResponsible for building maintenance in support of studio, studio events, studio tours and office space. \nMaintain facilities calendars including studio calendar and coordinates use of these areas. \nMaintain office stocking of water and supplies\nAct as main liaison with building management and engineering team\nIssue all building and/or parking access cards\nSet up of Community room or studio as required by department using space\nOccasional set up of events at off-site locations\nLead and manage the evacuation of staff during emergency drills and actual emergencies\nAct as floor warden for 5th floor\nOther responsibilities as assigned. \nQualifications:\nMultiple years of experience successfully reading construction as built plans. \nMultiple years of experience managing an office and supplemental type locations\nThorough knowledge and implementation of proper vehicle maintenance schedules. \nAttention to detail, strong organizational skills and project management experience. \nExcellent verbal and written communication skills. \nAbility to work with vendors. \nKnowledge of purchasing, maintenance and equipment repair. \nPersonable and professional demeanor \nPhysical Demands\nWhile performing the duties of this job, it is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is also required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.\nWork Environment\nThe working conditions are primarily a production studio and general office setting. However, the position will require off-site travel to other locations as necessary.
