The successful candidate will have strong data engineering and data warehousing experience within a Microsoft-centric environment and will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data solutions that support business intelligence, analytics, and reporting requirements.\n\nThe ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in the traditional Microsoft BI stack (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS/Power BI), strong SQL development skills, and proven experience in enterprise data warehousing environments. Exposure to cloud-based data platforms and emerging AI-enabled data solutions will be highly advantageous.\n\nKey Responsibilities\nDesign, develop, and maintain robust ETL/ELT processes and data integration solutions.\n\nBuild and support enterprise data warehouse solutions, including dimensional modelling and data marts.\n\nAnalyse business requirements and translate them into technical data solutions.\n\nDevelop, optimise, and troubleshoot SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects.\n\nEnsure data quality, integrity, governance, and performance across data platforms.\n\nDevelop and maintain reporting and analytics solutions using SSRS and/or Power BI.\n\nCollaborate with business stakeholders, analysts, architects, and project teams to deliver data solutions.\n\nSupport data migration, integration, and modernisation initiatives.\n\nParticipate in data architecture discussions and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.\n\nProduce and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures.\n\nRequired Skills and Experience\nTechnical Skills\nStrong SQL Server development experience.\n\nAdvanced T-SQL programming and database optimisation skills.\n\nSolid experience with:\nSQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)\n\nSQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS)\n\nSQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)\n\nPower BI\n\nStrong understanding of Data Warehousing principles and methodologies.\n\nExperience in:\nStar and Snowflake schema design\n\nDimensional modelling\n\nETL development\n\nData quality and reconciliation processes\n\nExperience integrating data from multiple source systems.\n\nKnowledge of performance tuning and optimisation practices.\n\nData Warehouse & Analytics Experience\nProven experience designing and supporting enterprise data warehouse solutions.\n\nStrong understanding of data modelling concepts and best practices.\n\nExperience supporting reporting, analytics, and business intelligence environments.\n\nAbility to work with large and complex datasets.\n\nAdvantageous Skills\nExperience with cloud data platforms such as:\nMicrosoft Azure\n\nAzure Data Factory\n\nAzure SQL\n\nAzure Synapse Analytics\n\nMicrosoft Fabric\n\nExposure to Databricks or modern data platform technologies.\n\nExperience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.\n\nKnowledge of data governance and data management frameworks.\n\nExposure to AI, Machine Learning, Generative AI, or AI-enabled analytics solutions.\n\nExperience working in consulting or client-facing environments.\n\nQualifications\nRelevant tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.\n\nMicrosoft certifications will be advantageous.\n\nPersonal Attributes\nStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities.\n\nExcellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.\n\nSelf-managed and delivery-oriented.\n\nAbility to work independently and within cross-functional teams.\n\nStrong attention to detail and commitment to quality.\n\nAdaptable and able to work across multiple client environments.\n\nWhy Join PBT Group?\nPBT Group is a leading provider of data, analytics, and technology solutions.
