The Engineering Lead will work closely with key stakeholders, software designers and engineering teams to deliver robust, scalable and sustainable technical solutions while fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement.\nKey Responsibilities\nEnd-to-End Solution Design: Develop integrated technical solutions across multiple technologies, taking into consideration people, processes, systems, data and organisational requirements.\n\nTechnical Leadership: Provide technical direction and leadership across multiple initiatives, guiding engineering practitioners and ensuring alignment with product and programme objectives.\n\nSolution Analysis: Analyse complex problems and formulate practical, achievable solutions that align with organisational architecture, standards, constraints and operational requirements.\n\nArchitecture and Governance: Present proposed solutions through relevant governance forums, engage with domain and technology specialists, and secure the necessary technical acceptance and stakeholder buy-in.\n\nStakeholder Engagement: Collaborate, communicate and negotiate effectively with key stakeholders to establish alignment and influence technical decisions.\n\nSolution Decomposition and Planning: Break down complex solutions into manageable components, assisting with work sequencing, scheduling and identifying resource requirements.\n\nTechnical Design: Develop and refine solution designs, contribute to functional and non-functional requirements, and assist software designers with lower-level technical designs.\n\nTechnical Troubleshooting: Investigate and resolve technical delivery challenges, supporting engineering teams in identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.\n\nRisk and Constraint Management: Evaluate technical constraints, dependencies and risks, making informed trade-offs to balance business needs, technical feasibility and long-term sustainability.\n\nSustainable Engineering: Design robust, maintainable and future-ready solutions while continuously enhancing the technical assets affected by solution delivery.\n\nProduct and Long-Term Thinking: Apply a product management mindset to solution design, considering future business needs, technology evolution and the long-term value of technical investments.\n\nCoaching and Mentorship: Coach, mentor and develop software engineering practitioners, supporting technical growth, knowledge sharing and the development of engineering capabilities.\n\nEngineering Practice Development: Contribute to the growth and maturity of the engineering lead practice through collaboration, knowledge sharing and participation in relevant professional forums or communities of practice.\n\nOrganisational Alignment: Drive alignment across areas of responsibility, ensuring that technical initiatives support broader organisational priorities and strategic objectives.\n\nContinuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to in technology and IT architecture while pursuing continuous learning and personal growth.\n\nEssential Requirements\nMinimum of 8 years' experience in similar engineering leadership or technical solution design roles.\n\nStrong understanding of IT architecture and technical concepts.\n\nExperience in systems analysis and design.\n\nAbility to develop and communicate integrated end-to-end technical solutions across multiple technologies.\n\nDemonstrated ability to work with technical and business stakeholders to achieve solution alignment.\n\nExperience evaluating technical risks, constraints, dependencies and alternative approaches.\n\nAbility to guide technical teams and support software designers in developing effective solutions.\n\nStrong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.\n\nProven ability to balance immediate delivery requirements with long-term technical sustainability.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nBSc in Computer Science, BCom in Information Systems, or a relevant equivalent qualification.\n\nA relevant professional qualification at an appropriate degree level.\n\nPreferred Certifications\nTOGAF certification.\n\nITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) certification.\n\nEquivalent certifications in enterprise architecture, IT service management or relevant technical disciplines.\n\nTechnical and
