You’ll maintain the servers and networks our clients depend on, solve technical problems, and help practices plan and implement reliable infrastructure.\nThis role combines hands-on systems administration, networking, and direct client support. We welcome candidates whose relevant experience comes from systems administration, network administration, infrastructure support, or technical support roles with substantial server and networking responsibilities.\nWhat you’ll do\nMaintain and improve client infrastructure\nTroubleshoot and resolve problems with PCC-provided hardware, operating systems, networks, and related products.\nCoordinate and perform server and network hardware installations and upgrades, remotely and at client offices.\nTravel to client offices for installations and upgrades as needed.\nConfigure, prepare, and ship physical servers and network equipment.\nProvision and administer cloud-hosted servers on Google Cloud Platform and/or AWS.\nPerform preventive maintenance on client servers and networks.\nHelp manage hardware warranty contracts and receive and ship client equipment.\nSupport clients and collaborate with colleagues\nProvide friendly, professional technical support by phone, email, and support tickets.\nHandle escalated tickets in partnership with PCC Technical Specialists.\nCoordinate technical work with clients and third-party vendors.\nAdvise clients on hardware selection, internet connectivity, connections between offices, and network planning.\nCommunicate clearly with clients who have varying levels of technical knowledge.\nDocument and share your work\nRecord work in help-desk tickets and PCC’s Tuleap project management system.\nCreate and maintain practical technical documentation for colleagues and clients in our intranet wiki.\nShare knowledge and information to help the team solve problems and support clients effectively.\nProtect confidential, sensitive, and protected information.\nQualifications\nWhat you’ll bring\nHands-on experience administering and troubleshooting servers that support critical business operations.\nExperience configuring, supporting, and maintaining business-class firewalls, switches, and wireless networks.\nA solid understanding of TCP/IP networking and services, including DHCP, DNS, and VLANs.\nDesktop support experience and a working knowledge of Windows and macOS.\nA thoughtful, methodical approach to troubleshooting and strong attention to detail.\nThe ability to communicate positively and effectively, verbally and in writing, with clients, coworkers, and leadership.\nA collaborative approach, a willingness to share knowledge, and an interest in learning from others.\nA commitment to reliable client service and PCC’s mission: to remove the obstacles that prevent pediatricians from taking care of children.\nHelpful additional experience\nThese skills are valuable, but they are not required to apply:\nLinux server administration, particularly Red Hat, CentOS, or Rocky Linux.\nBash, Perl, and/or Python scripting.\nProxmox virtualization and the ZFS filesystem.\nGit version control.\nIf you have core server and networking experience and enjoy helping people solve
