Our strategy includes building teams across our global network to pioneer and shape the future of PCI.\nSummary of Objective:\nReporting to the Director of Operations Manager, responsible for directing and overseeing the production and operations of the Packaging Rooms and auxiliary processes. Ensures conformance to quality requirements, pharmaceutical controls, standard operating procedures and health and safety legislation and practices. Assists with the investigation and troubling shooting of issues related to equipment, packaging processes, etc. bringing forward ideas and recommendations to improve efficiencies (labour and equipment) as well as streamline processes and procedures. Assists with the planning of production runs and the deployment of people and resources.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The essential duties and responsibilities include the following but other duties may be assigned.\nOversees the daily operations of the Packaging Rooms assigning and directing the work of the Line Leaders, Material Handlers and Packagers. \nMonitors and directs the operation and pace of the lines. Monitors and reports on the shift’s production output. \nReviews the schedule and ensures production is executed efficiently with a high-quality product and minimal waste. \nEnsures adherence to standard SOP’s and job specific packaging procedures. \nCoordinates with the Warehouse and Quality Assurance to ensure issuance and reconciliation are correct for packaging runs. \nPartners with the Mechanics and Line Leaders on the troubleshooting of production issues. \nOversees the precise checking of production output. \nPerforms Line/Packaging Room Clearances. \nCompletes and/or ensures all documentation (e.g. Batch Records, production run documentation) is completed in an accurate manner for the shift. \nMonitors quality via “in process” inspection processes in partnership with the QA Inspectors. \nMakes recommendations to the Director regarding improving labour and machine efficiencies and decreasing waste. \nParticipates in the recruitment process and candidate selection and conducts employee orientations \nSchedules temporary resources. \nOversees employee training identifying needs and concerns, consulting with the Director on how to close gaps. \nPromotes a positive working environment and encourages two-way communication. \nInvestigates and writes production incidents and deviations. \nRaises to the Director any issues, down time, concerns with products, machinery, employees, etc. Prepares and issues on a daily basis a detailed shift report. \nResponsible for adhering to and enforcing GMP and safety practices. \nEnsures Packaging Rooms are cleaned and maintained on a daily basis and all logbooks are complete and accurate. \nResponsible for monitoring health and safety in the Packaging Rooms. \nThis position may require overtime and/or weekend work. \nKnowledge of and adherence to all PCI, cGMP, and GCP policies, procedures, rules. \nAttendance to work is an essential function of this position. \nPerforms other duties as assigned by Manager/Supervisor. \nQualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for the stated position. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.\nRequired:\nPost-secondary education combined with a minimum of 5 years’ assembly experience and 5 year supervisory experience, preferably the pharmaceutical or food packaging industry \nPossesses a mechanical aptitude to comprehend, assess and help resolve production, work flow and equipment issues \nEffective communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills \nDemonstrated supervisory experience and ability \nAbility to follow and implement directives in a fast-paced customer-driven work environment \nPossess analytical and problem-solving skills \nExperience with MS Office, ERP systems an asset. \nKnowledge, experience and understanding of GMP an asset \nKnowledge of Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act as well as health and safety in the workplace \nExperience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, etc. an asset \n\nPreferred:\nAbility to demonstrate attention to detail. \nAbility to effectively present information to various people as the job requires. \nAbility to exhibit sound and accurage judgment. \nAbility to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner. \nThe base salary hiring range for this position is ($67,040 - $75,420 CAD), with eligibility for an annual performance bonus. The final offer will be determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to relevant experience, education, professional designations, specialized skills, and work location.
