This is a senior operational role for someone who can take ownership of complex, high-impact environments, work confidently and independently, and act as a clear communication point between customers, Professional Services, and the wider CloudOps team.\nYou'll combine hands-on technical delivery with strong stakeholder communication - leading incident response and change activity, running and contributing to governance and status meetings, and keeping the team informed and aligned. You'll be trusted to use your own judgement and initiative to drive issues to resolution, backed by the support and expertise of an experienced team.\nJob Responsibilities:\nManage and support enterprise customers' cloud infrastructure on AWS, ensuring availability, performance, and security of production environments.\nMonitor and respond to alerts via observability tooling, triaging and resolving incidents in line with agreed SLAs and SLOs. \nLead incident response and root cause analysis (RCA) for complex or high-severity issues, producing clear write-ups and remediation actions. \nCarry out change management activities - including deployments, security patching, and infrastructure updates following established change control and CR governance processes. \nAdminister and optimise AWS database infrastructure (e.g. RDS), including performance tuning, troubleshooting, and exposure/risk remediation. \nSupport compliance and audit activity (e.g. SOC audits), ensuring operational practices meet security and regulatory requirements. \nIdentify and help deliver cloud cost optimisation opportunities. \nMaintain accurate tickets, documentation, and workaround registers, and help close down accumulated technical debt.\nCommunication & stakeholder management:\nCommunicate clearly and confidently with customers, Professional Services, and internal stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.\nPlan, schedule, and run operational and governance meetings - setting clear agendas, driving decisions, and tracking follow-up actions to completion. \nProvide regular, well-structured status updates and reporting back to the wider CloudOps team, keeping colleagues informed of progress, risks, and changes. \nRepresent CloudOps professionally in customer-facing forums, translating technical detail into clear, actionable communication for a range of audiences. \nRequirements :\nSignificant experience in a Cloud Operations, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineering role, ideally within AWS environments.\nStrong working knowledge of core AWS services (e.g. EC2, RDS) and cloud infrastructure operations.\nExperience with monitoring/observability tooling, incident management, and change management processes. \nUnderstanding of security patching and compliance/audit processes (e.g. SOC 2). \nExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence and credibility to lead meetings and communicate outcomes back to the team and to customers. \nStrong organisational skills and the proven ability to manage competing priorities under your own initiative. \nA collaborative team player who is equally comfortable working independently and knowing when to seek support from the team. \nRelevant AWS certification(s) desirable. \nBehavioral Competencies:\nCultivates Innovation\nDecision Quality\nManages Complexity\nDrives Results\nBusiness Insight","description_format":"text","description_chars":3492,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":null,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":null,"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":[],"hiring_locations":[],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["ERP & Business Management Software","Retail & Shop Systems","Supply Chain & Logistics Software"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-09-25T13:11:32Z"}],"liveness":{"score":85,"band":"hot","label":"Hiring now","p_open":1,"p_active":0.852,"p_room":1,"age_days":5,"expected_fill_days":21,"reasons":["conf:5","velocity","win:early"],"computed_at":"2026-10-01T05:45:00Z"},"pay":null,"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/pdi-technologies-cloudops-engineer-iii","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/pdi-technologies-cloudops-engineer-iii.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-10-02T03:03:38Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","usage":{"tier":"crawler","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":4220,"day_limit":5000,"remaining_today":780,"minute_limit":60,"resets_at":"2026-10-03T00:00:00Z"}}}
