An excellent salary + benefits package is available for the successful candidate. This role can be based in our Aberdeen or Glasgow office on a flexible hybrid working model where 2 days per week can be worked remotely.\nSummary:\nThe Piping Head of Department will be responsible for managing the overall piping discipline within the PD&MS Group covering the UK, Baku, India and future other overseas locations. The responsibilities not only cover piping engineering and design but also the pipe stress function and the dimensional control survey teams. Preference is for a Chartered engineer as the role covers operational line management duties and the HoD will be the technical authority for the discipline. The role will involve coordination, technical assurance, personnel development, resource management, tender support and building client relationships.\nResponsibilities:\nKnowledge of, and compliance with, client, industry and international specifications and standards. Assurance that personnel under the Department Head’scontrol comply withrelevant documents\nManagement of personnel and overall responsibilityfor the technical content and quality of work producedfor “own discipline”,training and development.\nAccountable for coordination of all discipline input to support delivery and to ensure design integrity and consistency\nIdentifyand resolve any issue delaying design delivery / related procurement, irrespective of group/ disciplines involved. Key aspect is to positively drive cross-discipline delivery and remove any blockers, assess dependencies between disciplines and ensure the correct sequence of workflow to provide optimaldelivery and negate rework\nIdentifyspecialist 3rdparty input/ PD&MS Consult input is identifiedand planned for execution at the correct time\nOversee deliveryof cost effectiveengineering solutions that are fit for purpose, safe and add value to both PD&MS and the Client.
