We offer a flexible hybrid working model where 2 days per week can be worked remotely.\nWe are seeking candidates that have significant previous experience using Microsoft Fabric along with Microsoft BI Stack including Power BI, SSAS, SSRS and SSIS for this role.\nRole summary:\nThe Power BI Developer is responsible for leveraging Microsoft’s Power BI to generate, operate, and maintain business intelligence (BI) applications. Provide actionable insights to the organisation by creating coherent and useful reports from raw data. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, contribute to BI strategy, and ensure effective deployment pipelines and data warehousing solutions.\nResponsibilities:\nBI Strategy and Planning\nEngage with business stakeholders, data analysts, and other teams to understand organisational goals, challenges and BI requirements.\nParticipate in defining the overall BI strategy, including long-term vision, objectives, and key performance indicators (KPIs).\nIdentify opportunities for BI enhancements, process improvements, and data-driven decision-making.\nStrategic Planning\nDesign and develop data models ensuring optimal performance, scalability and adherence to best practices.\nWork closely with data engineers to integrate data from various sources (both structured and unstructured) into the BI environment.\nImplement security measures and ensure compliance with data privacy regulations.\nOptimise query performance, data refresh schedules and report rendering.\nTactical Planning and Implementation\nCreate interactive and visually appealing Power BI reports and dashboards.\nWrite complex Data Analysis Expressions (DAX) calculations to derive meaningful insights.\nTransform raw data into usable formats, ensuring data quality and consistency.\nSet up and manage deployment pipelines for Power BI reports, ensuring seamless updates and version control.\nConfigure automated data refresh schedules to keep reports up-to-date.\nCollaborate with ETL developers, database administrators, and other technical teams to align BI solutions with overall architecture.\nData Warehousing and Data Lakes\nContribute to the design and maintenance of data warehouses, ensuring efficient storage and retrieval.\nWork with data lakes (such as Azure Data Lake Storage) to ingest and process large volumes of data.\nUnderstand ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and their impact on BI solutions.\nImplement data governance practices within the data warehouse and data lake environments.\nGeneral\nParticipate in cross-functional teams to provide insights and recommendations for data-related initiatives.\nParticipate in training and development opportunities to enhance technical skills and domain knowledge.\nDemonstration of safe approach in working practises.\nEncouragement of attention to safety.\nResponsible for ensuring professional development is maintained and identified competency requirements are undertaken in a timely manner.\nAdherence to the company integrated management system.\nCompliance with quality assurance, health and safety and environmental policies.\nDemonstrate and promote PD&MS QHSE principles and lead by example.\nEnsure unsafe activities are challenged.\nAdherence to the requirements of the best practice standards recommendations and processes in the undertaking of duties.\nDemonstrate and promote PD&MS values and lead by example.\nAbout You\nQualifications:\n Degree qualified in a relevant subject\nMasters degree in relevant discipline (preferred)\nExperience / competence:\nDemonstrable experience in data preparation, data warehousing and BI projects\nDemonstrable experience using Microsoft Fabric\nDemonstrable experience with Microsoft BI stack, including Power BI, SSAS, SSRS and SSIS\nKnowledge of other BI tools such as Tableau or SAP (preferred)\nDemonstrable experience in creating clear and concise requirement documents, user stories and process flows (preferred)\nKnowledge of scripting languages and SQL server (preferred)\nExcellent written and spoken English\nPersonal attributes:\nOur GENES, our core values, define who we are, what we stand for and how we deliver.\nGo the extra mile\nEmpower our people\nNever get complacent\nEngage our partners\nStep up and deliver\nIf this sounds like you, then you could be a perfect fit.\nAbout Us\nPD&MS has been engineering solutions in the energy industry and beyond since 2002, our ability to combine innovative ideas with technical expertisesets us apart.
