With a 25+ year mine life, Centurion is positioned to lead the future of underground coal mining through safety, innovation and operational excellence.\nThe Opportunity\nPeabody is seeking an experienced Outbye Mining Coordinator to join the team at Centurion Mine, located approximately 160 kilometres west of Mackay.\nReporting to the Outbye Superintendent, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with outbye standards across the operation, including stonedusting, secondary support, roadway maintenance, water management, and coal and fines management.\nThis is a key leadership role that contributes directly to safe production, operational performance and continuous improvement across one of Australia's newest longwall mining operations.\nYour Impact\nDeliver performance targets while driving continuous improvement in safety, cost and resource recovery.\nLead the implementation and compliance of safety systems, standards and behaviours that support a proactive safety culture.\nBuild, lead and develop teams to achieve departmental objectives and improvement initiatives.\nIdentify training and development opportunities to maintain capability across crews.\nDevelop shift work plans in collaboration with Outbye Mechanical and Electrical Coordinators and other support functions.\nManage departmental activities within budget while ensuring spares and consumables are readily available.\nIdentify and report opportunities for operational improvement and coordinate corrective actions.\nEncourage workforce participation in continuous improvement initiatives.\nSupport the safe and efficient delivery of production targets through effective planning and coordination.\nPromote operational excellence through strong leadership and accountability.\nAbout You\nYou are a strong people leader with underground coal mining experience and a passion for safety, operational performance and continuous improvement.\nTo be successful in this role, you will have:\nPrevious experience in a similar position within an underground coal mining operation.\nDemonstrated commitment to safety, including identifying risks and implementing safe work practices.\nExperience leading teams to safely achieve production and business targets.\nProven ability to drive best-practice outcomes aligned with operational and business objectives.\nStrong understanding of business systems and the ability to analyse and utilise operational data.\nDemonstrated success in driving continuous improvement initiatives.\nStrong communication, planning and stakeholder engagement skills.\nA proactive approach to leadership and problem-solving.\nCommitment to Safety, Integrity, Operational Excellence and Courageous Leadership.\nWhat's on Offer\n 7 on, 7 off roster with dayshift only initially and potential transition to a rotating day/night roster.\nFlexible residential (Moranbah or Nebo), DIDO or FIFO from Brisbane arrangements.\nDomestic relocation assistance available in accordance with company policy.\nModern accommodation village with premium facilities and meals.\nOnsite gym, fitness facilities and group fitness classes.\nEmployee Assistance Program and wellbeing support.\nNovated leasing options and WHEREFIT lifestyle benefits.\nEmployee recognition programs.\nOngoing learning, career development and advancement opportunities.\nOpportunity to lead a critical operational function within a high-performing underground mine.\nLong-term career stability with a world-class operation and significant mine life.\nAbout Peabody\nPeabody is a leading coal producer, employing approximately 5,300 people across operations in the United States and Australia, serving customers in 18 countries.
