With a 25+ year mine life, Centurion is positioned to lead the future of underground coal mining through safety, innovation and operational excellence.\nThe Opportunity\nPeabody is seeking an experienced Outbye Mechanical Coordinator to join our team at Centurion Mine, located approximately 160 kilometres west of Mackay.\nReporting to the Outbye Superintendent, you will be responsible for the efficient operation, maintenance and ongoing development of critical underground infrastructure, including conveyor systems. This is a key leadership role focused on maximising equipment performance, driving maintenance excellence and supporting the safe and efficient delivery of the mine plan.\nYour Impact\nLead a systematic approach to identifying and delivering sustainable mechanical maintenance processes and practices.\nProvide leadership, coaching and development to mechanical maintenance crews.\nEnsure optimal equipment performance to support production targets and mine plan delivery.\nManage relationships with OEMs, contractors and key stakeholders.\nLead and implement continuous improvement initiatives across maintenance teams.\nEnsure all statutory inspections, maintenance tooling and safety equipment requirements are maintained and compliant.\nMaintain underground equipment compliance in line with site standards and legislative requirements.\nAssist with budget development and expenditure management through SAP maintenance and purchasing systems.\nOversee and provide guidance in the execution of weekly maintenance and shutdown schedules.\nEnsure compliance with all statutory, regulatory and site requirements.\nAbout You\nYou are a safety-focused leader with strong mechanical maintenance experience and a passion for developing people, improving equipment reliability and delivering operational results.\nTo be successful in this role, you will have:\nMechanical trade qualification or Engineering degree.\nMinimum two years' experience in a supervisory or similar leadership role within an underground coal mining operation.\nExtensive knowledge of conveyor systems, conveyor maintenance and conveyor management.\nDemonstrated commitment to safety and the ability to foster and maintain a positive safety culture.\nSupervisor qualifications (S1, S2, S3 and G2).\nStrong leadership capability with the ability to motivate and develop high-performing teams.\nExperience using SAP or similar computerised maintenance management systems.\nProficiency across the Microsoft Office Suite.\nStrong understanding of risk management and hazard identification.\nA flexible, collaborative and team-focused approach.\nWhat's on Offer\n 9-day fortnight roster (Monday to Friday, Monday to Thursday).\nFlexible residential (Moranbah), DIDO or FIFO from Brisbane arrangements.\nDomestic relocation assistance available in accordance with company policy.\nModern accommodation village with premium facilities and meals.\nOnsite gym, fitness facilities and group fitness classes.\nEmployee Assistance Program and wellbeing support.\nNovated leasing options and WHEREFIT lifestyle benefits.\nEmployee recognition programs.\nOngoing learning, career development and advancement opportunities.\nOpportunity to lead critical underground infrastructure and conveyor maintenance functions.\nLong-term career stability with a world-class operation and significant mine life.\nAbout Peabody\nPeabody is a leading coal producer, employing approximately 5,300 people across operations in the United States and Australia, serving customers in 18 countries.
