Maximize the overall efficiency and production of longwall section.\n\nKey Role Accountabilities\n\nSupervise crew to ensure longwall availability goals are being met, this includes direction of employees, safe work practices, and regulatory compliance. \nSupervise longwall mechanical and electrical work, while coordinating preventive maintenance and repairs to equipment.\nProvide oversight of daily work projects while ensuring parts are delivered to and from designated work areas.\nPrepare and submit accurate and timely maintenance records.\nConduct crew safety and informational sharing meetings.\nComplete employee’s daily time records in Kronos.\nMonitor and maintain proper flow of parts and inventory.\nCommunicate major problems to Longwall Maintenance Coordinator.\nEnsure all incidents and near misses are reported & investigated in line with site & Peabody Standards.\nEnsure all required training and/or assigned projects are completed in a timely manner.\n\nRole Structure\n\nDirect Reports- Represented personnel\nDotted Line Reports- None\nPeers- 5\n\nRole Requirements\n\nQualifications\n\nMust possess a high school diploma or GED and relevant experience in related field of longwall mechanical and electrical maintenance.\nSupervisor and/or crew lead experience preferred. Union supervisory experience is a plus\nMust be MSHA certified electrician (relevant state) or ability to obtain.\nMust have high level of understanding of MSHA Mining Regulations and mechanical and electrical codes.\nMine Foreman Certification or ability to obtain.\nMust communicate with others on shift and on adjacent shifts.\nMust be willing to work on any assigned shift and on scheduled weekends.\n\nExperience\n\nMinimum of 5 years’ experience performing mechanical and electrical maintenance on underground coal mining equipment. (Experience maintaining similar equipment in another field may be substituted).\nMust be a qualified MSHA electrician. (Underground low and medium voltage, surface low and medium voltage, underground/surface high voltage.)\nMine examiner, manager, or foreman certification is desirable.\nExperience with Microsoft Office programs.\nExperience in Success Factors, SAP and Kronos is a plus.\n\nPhysical Demands and Work Environment\n\nMust have the ability to stand for prolonged periods of time on uneven, rocky surfaces for up to the entire length of the shift \nMust have the ability to be seated for up to 4 hours to operate equipment or vehicles\nMust have the ability to walk for up to 4 hours at a time. Will be required to walk through different sections of the mine with varying degrees of clearance and headroom\nMust have the ability to wear required protective footwear, hearing and eye protection, and other personal protective equipment as required by Company and MSHA\nMust have the ability to bend or stoop for a full work period as a result of mine height\nMust have the ability to climb up and down stairs/steps and climb on and off equipment and ladders.\nMust have the ability to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions (push, pull, twist, handle), and have rapid reflex movements of the arms and legs as well as good hand to eye coordination\nMust have the ability to lift 25 to 50 pounds on a frequent basis and the ability to occasionally lift items weighing up to 80 pounds\nMust have the ability to work in extreme conditions, including but not limited to changing weather conditions, dust, mud, water varying levels of noise from low to high decibels, varying degrees of light and dark, in and around artificial light and in a confined work area\nThe job requires that you be able to work various shifts (required shifts include days, evenings and nights with rotating schedules, weekends and holidays\n\nThis is a Safety Sensitive Role.
