This position is responsible for processing, analyzing and drafting survey data to assist with the creation of all types of land surveys, record drawings and construction calculations. Field work may be required as necessary.\nResponsibilities\nResearches project information.\nReviews and evaluates survey field notes with guidance from Professional Surveyors.\nPrepares survey documents and computations associated with boundary surveys, ALTA surveys, topographical surveys, etc.\nPrepares survey drawings and descriptions utilizing AutoCAD and other related software packages as directed.\nProvides construction-related services including: construction plan interpretation, compute point data to provide to field crews and communicate with Client.\nUses and understands surveying terminology by reviewing applicable reference materials and location specific statutes and requirements and by communicating with other survey staff.\nOrganizes and coordinates survey projects.\nMay perform other duties as assigned.\nQualifications\nEducation, Licenses and Certifications\nAssociates degree in Surveying or Geomatics is preferred, but not required.\nValid driver’s license and a clean driving record.\nRegistration as a Professional Land Surveyor or Surveyor in Training (SIT) is preferred but not required.\nKnowledge and Experience\n2 years of experience operating survey instruments and collecting information in the field and performing field computations.\nHighly proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D.\nA comprehensive knowledge of ALTA’s, Boundary, and Topographic surveying along with construction staking and GPS experience for land development projects.\nStrong knowledge of land surveying principles and practices.\nCompetencies and Personal Attributes\nAbility to use various types of survey equipment.\nPossesses strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and work on multiple projects simultaneously.\nStrong verbal and written communication skills. \nWell-developed conflict resolution and problem solving skills.\nMust be able and willing to travel and work in other cities, including both urban and remote areas.\nStrong work ethic and team-player attitude.\nMust pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.\nPhysical Demands\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Fieldwork involves working outdoors in all types of weather, walking long distances, and standing for extended periods while measurements are taken. While performing these duties, an employee is frequently required to sit; talk; hear; stand; walk; use hands and fingers to feel, handle, or operate objects, tools or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds.\nAvailability\nThis is a full-time position.
