This role supports the full product lifecycle, including design, development, documentation, testing, and implementation. The position involves collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders, integration of design with manufacturing and assembly processes, and occasional travel to customer sites to support installation and meetings.\n\nKEY ACCOUNTABILITIES\nDevelop and refine mechanical designs using Fusion 360 and related CAD software.\nDesign complex tooling from concept through finalized drawings.\nAnalyze data to inform engineering decisions and improve functionality and performance.\nCollaborate with project managers to define schedules, deliverables, and milestones.\nEngage in system design activities to ensure all components function cohesively.\nGenerate detailed documentation including design specifications, technical drawings, and reports.\nCommunicate project updates and design changes with internal teams and clients.\nApply understanding of tolerances and appropriate material selection in all designs.\nProvide technical assistance and mentoring to other team members as needed.\nSupport project goals across design, manufacturing, assembly, and testing stages.\nTravel as needed to customer sites to attend meetings and support installation.\nOther duties as assigned.\n\nEDUCATION + EXPERIENCE + KEY TRAITS\nTechnical education or background in mechanical design or engineering required.\nBachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Robotics, or Mechatronics Engineering preferred.\nMechanical design experience, including calculation of loads, forces, and capacities.\nProficiency with Fusion 360 or comparable CAD software for detailed modeling and drawings.\nUnderstanding of system design principles, material selection, and tolerance application.\nFamiliarity with manufacturing and plant layout validation.\nExperience with engineering documentation, drawing creation, and project planning.\nKnowledge of General Motors tooling design standards is beneficial.\nStrong mathematical and analytical skills for engineering assessments.\nProficient with Microsoft Office applications.\nEffective written and verbal communication skills.\nAbility to work independently or collaboratively, and take direction as needed.\nMust be able to professionally engage with customers and travel when required.\nReliable transportation is required.\n\nTYPICAL PERFORMANCE TARGETS\nSERVICE DELIVERY: Sustained, measured excellence in project & process delivery\nCOST TO SERVE: Sustained, measured excellence in delivery efficiency with expected continuous improvement\nINNOVATION: Step changed delivery in safety, quality, and/or cost\n\nLANGUAGE SKILLS\nPrimary language used in daily operations is English.
