This position will play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, supporting financial planning and analysis, and providing financial insight to leadership.\nThe Corporate Controller will oversee corporate accounting activities and work closely with Finance, Operations, Sales, Talent, and executive leadership across the organization. This role requires a hands-on leader who can balance day-to-day accounting responsibilities with process improvement, financial controls, and strategic support.\n\nThis position is based onsite in Jasper, Indiana, with a hybrid work with option to work remote 2 days a week. Travel 5%-10% to visit Canada team.\n\nKey Responsibilities\nFinancial Reporting & Accounting\nLead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.\nEnsure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements and management reports.\nOversee general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, accruals, journal entries, and financial reporting.\nReview financial results for accuracy, completeness, and unusual variances.\nMaintain accounting policies and procedures in accordance with applicable accounting standards.\nEnsure consistent accounting practices across the organization.\nSupport consolidation of financial results across multiple locations and entities.\nCorporate Accounting & Controls\nLead corporate accounting operations and establish effective processes and controls.\nDevelop, implement, and maintain strong internal controls to protect company assets and ensure financial accuracy.\nIdentify opportunities to improve accounting processes, efficiency, and automation.\nMonitor compliance with company policies and accounting requirements.\nSupport cash management, working capital, and balance sheet management.\nOversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, inventory accounting, and other accounting functions as appropriate.\nAudit, Tax & Compliance\nCoordinate annual financial audits and serve as a key point of contact with external auditors.\nSupport tax compliance and work with external tax advisors as needed.\nEnsure appropriate documentation and support for audits and financial reporting.\nAssist with compliance related to federal, state, and Canadian financial requirements as applicable.\nMonitor changes in accounting standards and recommend necessary changes to policies or procedures.\nFinancial Planning & Business Partnership\nPartner with the CFO and executive leadership on financial analysis and business decisions.\nSupport the annual budgeting and forecasting processes.\nProvide financial analysis and reporting to help leadership understand business performance.\nPartner with Operations and other functional leaders to analyze costs, margins, inventory, labor, and other key financial drivers.\nAssist with financial modeling and analysis related to capital investments, acquisitions, strategic initiatives, and other business opportunities.\nTranslate financial information into clear, actionable insights for non-financial leaders.\nLeadership & Team Development\nLead, develop, and mentor accounting team members.\nEstablish clear expectations, priorities, and accountability within the accounting function.\nPromote a culture of accuracy, continuous improvement, collaboration, and customer service.\nPartner with other departments to resolve financial and operational issues.\nSupport organizational growth by developing scalable accounting processes and systems.\nQualifications\nBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.\nCPA preferred.\n7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including significant experience in a Controller or similar leadership role.\nManufacturing or multi-location industry experience strongly preferred.\nExperience with month-end close, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.\nExperience working with ERP/accounting systems and implementing process improvements.\nStrong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.\nExperience with audits and working with external accounting and tax professionals.\nDemonstrated leadership and team management experience.\nStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to work effectively with executive leadership and cross-functional teams.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\nHigh level of integrity, confidentiality, accuracy, and attention to detail.\nPreferred Experience\nCPA or equivalent professional accounting designation.\nManufacturing accounting experience.\nExperience with multiple entities or locations.\nExperience with inventory, standard costing, and manufacturing financial reporting.\nExperience with ERP implementations, system improvements, or accounting automation.\nExperience supporting U.S. and Canadian operations.\nExperience in a growing or privately held organization.\nWhat We Offer\nCompetitive salary and benefits package.\nHybrid work environment with a primary work location in Jasper, Indiana.\nOpportunity to make a meaningful impact within a growing organization.\nCollaborative environment working directly with senior leadership.\nOpportunities for professional growth and development.\nWork Environment\nThis is a leadership position with a primary work location at Peak Toolworks' Jasper, Indiana facility.
