The next challenge is scaling Nebula from a successful system into a durable enterprise capability adopted across Pearson’s products and business units.\nAs Principal Product Manager for Nebula, you are the senior product leader responsible for turning Nebula’s enterprise vision into an outcome-driven platform roadmap, adoption strategy, and measurable business value.\nYou partner closely with the Director of Design Systems, who leads Nebula’s system vision, experience and craft strategy, standards, governance, and design/engineering capability. Together, you operate Nebula as an enterprise product-not a component library or downstream service.\nYour focus is to make sure Pearson is building the right shared capabilities, for the right consuming teams, in the right sequence-and that adoption produces measurable value.\nWhat You Own\n1. Enterprise Product Strategy & Roadmap\nTranslate Nebula’s enterprise vision into an evidence-led product strategy and prioritized multi-year roadmap.\nYou will:\nCo-own the enterprise Nebula roadmap with the Design Systems Director, translating system strategy into product outcomes, initiatives and sequencing.\n\nDefine the problems Nebula should solve across Pearson’s business units and product portfolios.\n\nPrioritize investments across reusable components, platform capabilities, adoption tooling, AI-enabled workflows, Platinum/brand integrationand emerging Content/AI needs.\n\nEstablish clear product hypotheses, success measures and decision criteria before major investments.\n\nBalance enterprise standardization against legitimate product and technical differences across consuming teams.\n\nMaintain a transparent roadmap connecting investment → capabilities → adoption → measurable enterprise value.\n\n2. Adoption Product Strategy & BU Onboarding\nTreat adoption as a product problem, not a communicationsor change-management exercise.\nYou will:\nSegment Pearson products and business units by readiness, compatibility, value opportunity and migration complexity.\n\nPartner with BU Product and Engineering leaders to turn interested teams into roadmap-committed adopters with named products, dates, owners and scope.\n\nLead discovery with consuming teams to understand adoptionfriction, unmet platform needs and migration barriers.\n\nDesign the end-to-end Nebula adoption experience: evaluation → commitment → onboarding → migration → contribution → ongoing consumption.\n\nDefine scalable pilots and onboarding models before expanding enterprise-wide.\n\nUse adoption feedback to shape platform roadmap priorities.\n\nPartner with Program Management on intake and migration sequencing while retaining product accountability for what and why.\n\n3. Outcomes, Telemetry & Value Measurement\nOwn the evidence that proves Nebula is working.\nYou will:\nEstablish the Nebula measurement framework with leading and lagging indicators.\n\nDefine telemetry for:\n\nactive products using Nebula\n\ncomponent reuse\n\navoided bespoke rebuilds\n\nadoption and migration velocity\n\naccessibility readiness\n\ndesign-to-code fidelity\n\nrebrand propagation time\n\nproduct-development capacity released\n\nCreate dashboards that allow the central team, BU teamsand executives to see adoption and value.\n\nValidate assumptions in the business case against real adoption data.\n\nUse evidence to stop, changeor accelerate investments.\n\nBuild the product-level evidence required to continuously strengthen Nebula’s enterprise investment case.\n\n4. Discovery & Platform Customer Insight\nBuild continuous discovery into the operation of the design system.\nYour “customers” include designers and engineers, but also Product leaders, accessibility teams, AI teams, Brand, and business units consuming the platform.\nYou will:\nRun ongoing generative and evaluative discovery with consuming teams.\n\nIdentify recurring problems that should become sharedenterprise capabilities rather than local solutions.\n\nDetermine where standardization creates leverage and where flexibility is required.\n\nValidate high-value component, workflowand platform opportunities before committing significant central-team capacity.\n\nCreate feedback mechanisms that allow BU contributions and needs to flow back into Nebula.\n\nTurn qualitative customer insight and telemetry into roadmap decisions.\n\nThe original Principal PM role’s strength in continuous discovery should stay; its purpose simply shifts from coaching other PMs to directly improving Nebula.\n5. Prioritization & Product Operating Model\nCreate the product discipline that allows a specialized platform team to make high-quality trade-offs.\nYou will:\nOwn Nebula prioritization and outcome-based backlog management.\n\nEstablish clear criteria for:\n\nplatform investments\n\ncomponent requests\n\nmigrations\n\ncontribution proposals\n\nexceptions\n\nenterprise versus BU-specific work\n\nPartner with the Director, Principal Engineer and discipline leads on roadmap and release planning.\n\nEnsure roadmap commitments reflect available team capacity and enterprise value.\n\nConvert ambiguous enterprise asks into appropriately sized discovery and delivery increments.\n\nMaintain decision traceability from customer problem → investment → outcome.","description_format":"text","description_chars":5682,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":null,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":null,"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":[],"hiring_locations":[],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":[],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-09-27T23:45:59Z"}],"visa":[],"liveness":{"score":31,"band":"fade","label":"Fading","p_open":1,"p_active":0.556,"p_room":0.55,"age_days":27,"expected_fill_days":26,"reasons":["conf:2","stale_co","velocity","win:tail","comp:brand"],"computed_at":"2026-10-20T05:45:00Z"},"pay":null,"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/pearson-principal-product-management-2","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/pearson-principal-product-management-2.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-10-20T14:08:01Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","about":"Alion is a live layer of people, companies and AI agents: who they are, whether they are real and active right now, what they do and how to work with them, readable by people and by agents and paid per call.","catalog":"https://alion.io/catalog.json","usage":{"tier":"crawler_verified","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":15853,"day_limit":null,"remaining_today":null,"minute_limit":300,"resets_at":"2026-10-21T00:00:00Z"}},"offers":[{"id":"company.slices","title":"One company in depth, by slice","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002,"plus_per_slice":{"credits":0.05,"usd":0.005}},"unit":"per company, plus each slice with data","note":"the employer in depth","call":{"mcp_tool":"get_company","arguments":{"id":34029},"rest":"https://alion.io/mcp/rest/get_company?id=34029"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.slices&for=job%2Fpearson-principal-product-management-2"},{"id":"market.stats","title":"A market slice: pay, demand and time to fill","status":"live","price":{"credits":1,"usd":0.1},"unit":"per slice","note":"pay, demand and time to fill for this role and place","call":{"mcp_tool":"market_stats"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=market.stats&for=job%2Fpearson-principal-product-management-2"},{"id":"job.search","title":"Open jobs by role, technology, place, pay and visa","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002},"unit":"per posting in a list","note":"similar open postings","call":{"mcp_tool":"search_jobs"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=job.search&for=job%2Fpearson-principal-product-management-2"},{"id":"company.verify","title":"Is this company real and active right now","status":"pilot","price":null,"unit":"per company","request":{"url":"https://alion.io/catalog/request","method":"POST","body":"{\"offer\": \"company.verify\", \"for\": \"job/pearson-principal-product-management-2\", \"note\": \"what you need it for\"}"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.verify&for=job%2Fpearson-principal-product-management-2"}]}
