This role is designed for a deeply technical leader who thrives at the intersection of modern web architecture and emerging AI technologies, particularly agentic AI systems.\nYou will serve as a hands-on technical authority, driving architectural decisions, mentoring senior engineers, and shaping next-generation AI-powered learning experiences.\nKey Responsibilities\nTechnical Leadership & Architecture\nDefine and drive the architecture for scalable, high-performance web applications supporting Guided Study experiences.\n\nLead system design discussions and make strategic technology decisions across frontend, backend, and AI components.\n\nArchitect and implement AI-powered workflows using agentic AI frameworks and LLM-based systems.\n\nDesign and optimize data pipelines and backend services using Java, Python, and SQL.\n\nEnsure best practices in scalability, observability, performance, and security.\n\nAI & Intelligent Systems Development\nDevelop and integrate at least one Large Language Model (LLM) into production workflows.\n\nDesign and implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines.\n\nApply advanced prompt engineering techniques to improve learning personalization and response quality.\n\nEvaluate emerging AI technologies and define roadmap integration strategies.\n\nFull-Stack Engineering\nLead frontend architecture using ReactJS.\n\nDevelop backend systems using Java and Python.\n\nDesign and optimize relational databases and complex SQL queries.\n\nEnsure clean API design and seamless frontend-backend integration.\n\nCross-Functional Collaboration\nPartner closely with Product, Data Science, UX, and Content teams to deliver intelligent learning features.\n\nMentor senior engineers and influence engineering standards across the organization.\n\nContribute to technical strategy and long-term platform evolution.\n\nRequired Qualifications\n10+ years of experience in design, architecture, and development of web applications.\n\nAgentic AI systems\n\nStrong experience in At least one Large Language Model (LLM)\n\nExperience in Prompt Engineering\n\nExperience in Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)\n\nHands-on experience in ReactJS\n\nHands-on experience in Java\n\nHands-on experience in Python\n\nHands-on experience inSQL\n\nDemonstrated experience designing scalable, distributed systems.\n\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, and system-thinking capabilities.\n\nExcellent communication and collaboration skills.\n\nProven ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience deploying AI systems in production environments.\n\nFamiliarity with vector databases and embedding pipelines.\n\nExperience with cloud-native architectures (AWS, Azure, or GCP).\n\nExperience in EdTech or learning platforms.\n\nThis is a hybrid work setup, where the candidate will be required to work three days onsite at our Hoboken office.\nApplications will be accepted through February 10.
