This is why brands like Costco, IKEA, Jeld-Wen and Alaska Airlines (to name a few of the 5000+ companies we work with) put their trust in us.\nThe Job\nThe Accounting Assistant provides part-time administrative and transactional support to the Accounting team, primarily supporting accounts payable, expense reporting, and vendor account maintenance. This role helps ensure routine accounting activities are completed accurately and on time while supporting the department’s day-to-day operations.\nThis position is based in-person in our Downtown Vancouver, WA headquarters. This is a part-time position, averaging around 30 hours per week.\nThe hiring range for this position is $21.50 - $27.00 per hour.\nCore Responsibilities\nAccounts Payable\nProcess vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner.\nManage AP Inbox, communication with vendors, and with team members.\nUtilize AP automation function.\nAssist with making online payments when applicable.\nReview invoice information and supporting documentation for completeness.\nAssist with monthly accounts payable reconciliation and research discrepancies as needed.\nMaintain organized AP records and documentation in accordance with established processes.\nEscalate invoice discrepancies or unusual transactions to the Accounting Manager.\nExpense Reporting\nReview employee expense reports for completeness and accuracy.\nVerify that appropriate general ledger accounts, departments, and projects are applied.\nIdentify missing documentation or coding issues and follow up as needed.\nEscalate exceptions or questions to the Accounting Manager for review.\nVendor Administration and 1099 Support\nMaintain vendor records, account information, and online vendor portals.\nAssist with collecting and maintaining vendor documentation.\nReview vendor information for accuracy and update records as needed.\nSupport annual 1099 preparation by reviewing vendor records and identifying missing or incorrect information.\nRequirements\nEducation & Experience\nHigh school diploma required\nAssociate degree or coursework in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred.\n2-5 years’ experience of related work.\nPrevious administrative, accounts payable, bookkeeping, or accounting experience preferred.\nAn equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities\nStrong attention to detail and accuracy.\nAbility to organize work and manage recurring deadlines.\nComfortable working with financial information and maintaining confidentiality.\nAbility to follow established processes while identifying questions or discrepancies that need additional review.\nWorking knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other business systems, with the ability to learn new software.\nCollaborative and willing to assist with other accounting-related tasks as business needs arise.\nA valid, insurable driver’s license is required.\nPEC is not able to provide sponsorship for work visas.
