These jobs are open to all abilities but Peckham gives preference to individuals with disabilities.\nPeckham Inc. - Custodial Services Trainee (State Building)\nImportant Information:\nWage - $15.00\nShift - Tuesday - Saturday 7:00am - 3:30pm\nLocation - Downtown Lansing\nSUMMARY\nThe Custodial Services Trainee duties involve general custodial tasks including, but not limited to, cleaning of restrooms, public areas, classrooms, offices, and conference rooms. The ideal candidate is flexible, diligent, and a good communicator, who can receive feedback and resolve basic issues with the support of an on-site Supervisor or Crew Leader. Attending New Hire Orientation and receiving in-person training is required before being placed at a site. Placement site can change at any time based on contract requirements or the needs of the line of business.\nDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nStocking storage closets and custodial carts.\nRoutine cleaning of restrooms and occupied offices.\nPeriodic cleaning of vents.\nMaintain grounds, including snow removal.\nRoutine vacuuming of carpeting and matting.\nRoutine dust and wet mopping of tile areas.\nPeriodic dusting of all horizontal ledges.\nPerform daily inspection and maintenance of equipment.\nProduce quality work in an ever-changing environment.\nMaintain excellent customer service standards at all times.\nPractice proper security, safety, and ergonomic standards at building sites.\nUtilize a teamwork approach for all projects.\nPromote Peckham’s vision, values and services to all customers and stakeholders.\nComplete New Hire Orientation and related certifications.\nReceive and implement constructive feedback in a professional manner.\nAccept other related jobs/duties as assigned and training as needed.\nMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS\n18 years of age or older\nAbility to read and/or interpret written or pictorial documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, schedules, and procedure manuals.\nAbility to communicate verbally, gesturally, or through written means.\nLow Beginning English (Reading 184-196 / Listening 182-191).\nSpoken English is not a requirement for this position, but a translator must be present to assist the employee during the 5-day New Hire Orientation.\nMust pass and maintain background checks.\nMeet minimum physical requirements of the position (see Physical Demands).\nAble to commit to a regular schedule.\nMust have reliable transportation to and from worksite.\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
