Being a person without a disability will not impact your eligibility to be hired for this position.\nThis specific job is open to all interested candidates, both people with and without disabilities.\nPeckham Diversified - Packaging Operator\nImportant Details:\nPay: $15 an hour\nShift: 8AM-5PM\nLocation: Caledonia, MI\nSUMMARY\nThe Packing Operator is responsible for loading and packing Revolution Farms’ products, as well as performing sanitation to ensure quality and compliance with food safety standards. This role involves operating machinery, performing repetitive tasks at high speed, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. The position requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team in a climate-controlled environment with temperatures around 36°F.\nDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nProperly load and package Revolution Farms’ products on assigned machines\nInspect produce for defects, contaminations, and foreign materials during loading and packing; report any issues promptly\nInspect packaging for defects or contaminations; report any issues promptly\nMeet or exceed established production efficiency standards\nRotate workstations as required to support workflow\nMaintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with company standards\nComplete all required Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs), including beginning and end of day, and ongoing throughout shift\nComply with all written Good Manufacturing and Agricultural Practices (GMPs/GAPs) at all times, including but not limited to, personal clothing, personal items, personal hygiene, food safety attire, and proper food handling and sanitation.\nSupport and maintain the placement and storage of produce, packaging, and other materials in their designated areas within the packing cooler\nAdhere to standards for material storage, including maintaining 6-inch clearance from walls, keeping items off the ground, and establishing lanes between products\nPerform high-speed, repetitive tasks such as machine operation, hand packing, palletization, and shipping\nUnderstand lettuce blend ingredients and mix ratios using basic math skills\nBe able to properly identify all lettuce varieties and mixes blends visually\nOrganize produce and packaging to comply with First In, First Out (FIFO) procedures\nParticipate in team meetings and training sessions\nCommunicate effectively with other Team Members and Staff\nContribute positively to team goals and maintain a collaborative work environment\nOther duties as assigned\nMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS\nAt least 18 years old\nMust be able lift and carry up to 40 pounds on a frequent basis\nMust be able to read numbers on a digital scale\nAccess to reliable transportation\nGrasping, sorting, handling, lifting, bending, crouching, twisting, standing, walking, carrying, pushing, pulling, balancing, stooping, kneeling\nRepetitive motions, eye/hand/foot coordination, machine operation, handling tools, sweeping and similar motions\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS\nAttention to detail and\nProblem-solving skills\nStrong organizational and planning skills\nAbility to work in a team environment\nExcellent time management skills and Ability to multi-task and prioritize work\nAbility to operate a pallet jack and maneuver loads weighing up to 1,000 pounds\nAbility to communicate verbally and in writing\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The Packing Cooler has an unfinished concrete floor. The floor is sometimes wet (during sanitation). The facility uses sanitizing footbath mats throughout, which require being able to step in and out of the tray over a 2.5” raised tray edge. The employee may occasionally be exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles.
