Make a difference.\nAt Peel Region, we can create lasting impact, together.**\nHealth Analyst - Family Health\nHealth Services, Public Health\nStatus: Contract Full Time (13 months)\nHiring Range: $81,977 - $92,224 per annum (plus comprehensive benefits)\nWork Mode: Hybrid *see below for more details about this work mode\nLocation: 7120 Hurontario Street, Mississauga, ON L5W 1N4\nHours of Work: 35 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm\nWho we are:\nPeel Public Health aims to improve early child development outcomes for all children in Peel to promote lifelong health and well-being, reduce disparities and improve the health status of the population.\nThe Analyst will provide health data and analysis to support program planning, evaluation, and monitoring of Family Health programs. This includes development and maintenance of program dashboards and the reporting of data to inform Family Health priorities and continuous quality improvement initiatives.\nWhat you will do in this role:\nFunction as data guardian for Family Health databases\nObtain, clean, organize and analyze Family Health program data\nOrganize, analyze and interpret health-related and divisional and program related data using relevant software and tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, ArcGIS, etc.)\nConduct technical analyses and prepare reports for health status monitoring, program planning, program evaluation, answering health questions, council reports or for responding to requests for information\nConduct analyses and monitor trends in operational data to identify opportunities for improvement and program efficiencies to achieve program objectives\nPresent data in useful, understandable formats including tables, charts, maps, customized reports, and data dashboards using a variety of software to explain complex issues and results to management, decision makers and partners\nUpdate and maintain team procedural documents for Family Health databases\nDevelop written material including reports, summaries of data, technical reports, background documents, and correspondence\nAdhere to all policies, standards, procedures and best practices within the program area and the Region including health information privacy and data information practices\nCollaborate with leadership and internal staff to provide analytic support and determine data analysis needs\nProvide support regarding technical issues related to health data for program evaluations, research activities, mapping, operational issues, and other special projects\nProvide program updates to external partners including the Ministry of Health and Long-term Care, Ministry of Children and Youth Services and other health units\nDemonstrates a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias\nWhat the role requires:\nCompleted BA or BSc preferably in Mathematics or Biostatistics or other related Public Health Sciences\nMinimum of three (3) years of related working experience or equivalent combination of education and experience\nUnderstanding of health databases and related policies/methods and limitations\nKnowledge of public and community health issues\nSkills/Abilities:\nAbility to coordinate collection and retrieval of health data\nDemonstrated ability to synthesize, analyze and communicate epidemiological information from multiple sources\nEffective interpersonal and collaboration skills to establish and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders\nProficient computer skills using Microsoft 365, SharePoint, SPSS/SAS, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, mapping software, Power BI, ARC GIS\nPolished communicator with strong project management skills\nOrganized, time management and problem-solving skills\nNice to have:\nKnowledge of Family Health Services and Programs in Peel and Ontario\nKnowledge of provincial and health-related databases, including ISCIS, BORN, CHR\nEpidemiology experience or education\nPerks @ Peel and why you will love working for us:\nComprehensive Health, Dental, Vision benefit plan including psychological health, effective start date\nAutomatic enrolment into OMERS pension plan (where applicable) \nAccrue Vacation on a monthly basis starting at 3 weeks per annum \n3 Paid personal days and floating holidays \nFlexible hours supporting your wellness and wellbeing \nAnnual performance review and merit increases based on performance \nSupportive leadership and a culture of respect and inclusion \nBe bold.
