We Dare to Amaze, Own It, Make It Simple, and Win Together challenging ourselves every day to do better than the day before.\nWe've learned that the secret to great coffee is the people who make it, and we apply the same care in selecting and preparing our teams as we do when crafting the perfect cup. \nThe Maintenance Technician Performs equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs in green blending, roasting, packaging, distribution warehouse, and small-scale projects. \nSchedule: This position works 3rd Shift, Monday-Friday from 10:00PM-6:30AM.\nPay: $28-35/hour\nResponsibilities:\nSupport manufacturing operations by understanding the functionality and operation of all machinery.\nMonitor equipment and processes to ensure safety, efficiency, and product quality.\nPerform preventive and predictive maintenance on all roasting and packaging equipment.\nTroubleshoot and repair mechanical and basic electrical issues on production equipment.\nMaintain equipment in safe, efficient operating condition, targeting 90% or higher machine uptime.\nComplete scheduled maintenance tasks and assigned work orders.\nAssist with continuous improvement initiatives and special projects.\nAid the Engineering Technician in new equipment installations and modifications.\nRespond to unplanned equipment downtime to minimize production disruptions.\nCommunicate effectively with the Engineering Supervisor, Operations leadership, and Production team.\nAdhere to and uphold Peet's Coffee policies and procedures fairly and consistently.\nParticipate in safety committee meetings and support plant safety initiatives.\nComply with all Food Safety programs, including but not limited to GMPs, SSOPs, and the Adverse Health Policy.\nOperate forklifts, boom lifts, and scissor lifts safely and in accordance with training.\nRead and interpret basic electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics.\nFollow lockout/tagout procedures and demonstrate working knowledge of safety protocols.\nMaintains sanitation standards and participates in routine equipment cleaning.\nMust be flexible and available for shift changes, overtime, and weekend coverage.\nHow you show up:\nDemonstrates strong problem-solving skills and makes timely, sound decisions.\nDetail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.\nFollows multi-step tasks and procedures accurately and consistently.\nCommunicates clearly and effectively with diverse stakeholders and partners.\nSelf-motivated, proactive, and results-oriented.\nThrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment; adaptable and responsive to changing business needs.\nProactive in identifying areas for process or equipment improvement.\nUses both basic and specialized tools effectively (all tools provided by the company).\nWorks independently and consistently follows through on complex, multi-step projects.\nQualifications:\nRequired:\n1+ years of related experience in the technician field or equivalent combination of education and experience.\nObtains and maintains a Minnesota Electrical Unlicensed Individual (or greater) certification.\nBasic electrical circuits knowledge.\nWelding and fabricating experience. \nExperience troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.\nComfortable operating and understanding production equipment.\nAble to navigate SCADA systems, such as Scolari for roasting and associated coffee packaging systems.\nStrong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently.\nSelf-motivated and reliable with minimal supervision.\nStrong organizational skills.\nClear, confident communicator with cross-functional teams.\nPreferred:\nTrade school diploma in electronic and mechanical disciplines in packaging equipment or equivalent experience.\nExperience with Vertical Form Fill and Seal (VFF), Digital Scales, Variable Frequency Drive (VFD), Steppers, and Servomotors.\nTroubleshooting and repairing basic electrical systems.\nExperience with CMMS software (e.g., computerized maintenance management systems).\nPhysical Requirements and Environmental Exposures:\nMust be able to lift up to 80 pounds.\nMust be able to work “on your feet.”\nMust be able to endure constant leaning and bending during shift.\nMust be able to handle/move up to 750 pound bins on casters.\nAirborne particles, Fumes, High places, Moving parts, Muscular strain, Noise, Odors, High temperatures.\nThese physical requirements must be accomplished with or without reasonable accommodation.\nWhat Benefits do Peetniks Receive?\nAt Peet's we hire the best people and are committed to supporting our employees and rewarding them for their work.
