Pre-Sales Engineer

The Role

We're looking for a Pre-Sales Engineer to work alongside our Account Executives, providing consultative and technical expertise throughout the sales process.

You'll join opportunities where deeper discovery or technical input is needed, working directly with customers to understand their challenges, shape the right solution and ensure what we propose is both commercially compelling and deliverable.

You'll act as a trusted advisor to both our customers and Sales team - helping qualify complex opportunities, uncover wider customer needs and demonstrate how Pelion's capabilities can support their objectives.

What You'll Do

• Partner with AEs on opportunities requiring technical or consultative support.
• Lead customer discovery to understand their challenges, architecture and desired outcomes.
• Help technically qualify opportunities and identify risks, dependencies and complexity.
• Translate customer requirements into practical Pelion solutions.
• Identify where Pelion can add value beyond the customer's initial requirement.
• Present and position Pelion's technical capabilities to customers.
• Support workshops, demonstrations, POCs, proposals and RFPs.
• Work with Product, Engineering and SRE where deeper specialist input is required.
• Ensure solutions are deliverable and clearly handed over into Service Delivery.

About You

You'll have experience in technical pre-sales, solution engineering or consultative technology sales, ideally within telecoms, IoT, networking or connectivity.

You'll combine:

• Strong consultative discovery and customer engagement skills.
• Commercial awareness and understanding of B2B sales.
• Technical credibility with customers and engineering teams.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• The ability to translate technical capabilities into customer outcomes.
• A pragmatic and collaborative approach to solving problems.

Knowledge of IP networking, mobile/IoT connectivity, eSIM, cloud connectivity, APIs, VPNs, APNs, security or automation would be advantageous.
