Interns work alongside experienced engineers and cross-functional teams while developing technical, analytical, and professional skills in a real-world environment.\nIf you're interested in applying engineering principles to product development, solving technical challenges, and gaining experience similar to that of an entry-level engineer, we'd love to connect with you.\n Responsibilities:\nAs a Product Engineering Intern, you will support engineering projects and initiatives while developing engineering competencies and an understanding of how engineering supports business objectives.\nResponsibilities are similar to what we expect of entry-level engineers who join Pella after graduation. Interns work closely with an assigned manager and mentor on strategic projects and focused development opportunities.\nAs a Product Engineering Intern, you may:\nSupport engineering projects focused on quality, cost, performance, and product improvement\nApply engineering principles and problem-solving techniques to assigned projects and tasks\nPartner with engineering and cross-functional teams to support business initiatives\nUtilize engineering tools, technologies, and processes to deliver project results\nAnalyze data and communicate findings and recommendations\nGain exposure to product development and engineering processes within the fenestration industry\nDevelop technical, professional, and leadership skills through project ownership and collaboration\nAll projects and assignments will be determined based on business needs and team priorities.\nAdditional Information\nMinimum 10-week, full-time internship assignment\nAssigned manager and mentor support throughout the internship\nMinimal travel may be required\nPeriodic exposure to manufacturing equipment and production environments\nOccasional lifting of materials up to 30 pounds may be required\nWork may be performed in office, laboratory, and manufacturing settings\n Qualifications:\nCurrently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, or a related scientific discipline\nStrong academic standing\nDemonstrated leadership, teamwork, or involvement through campus organizations, work experience, athletics, volunteer activities, or other experiences\nProficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook\nStrong written and verbal communication skills\nDemonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities\nAbility to learn new technologies, systems, and engineering tools\nAbility to succeed in a collaborative, team-based environment\nPrevious internship or co-op experience preferred\nCompensation: The starting pay rate for this position is $27.90 per hour. Compensation for this role is established through Pella Corporation’s internship program.
