GLAD YOU ASKED...\nYou will be a key contributor in the design, development, and maintenance of enterprise-scale Geographic Information Systems (GIS) applications. This role focuses on supporting and evolving our GIS systems architecture to ensure high service levels and technical solutions that precisely meet our internal and external user requirements.\nPlease note we are only considering candidates who are eligible to work in Canada and can work in a Hybrid modelat our Oakville, ON, Canada location.\nWHAT'S THE DAY TO DAY LIKE?\nApplication Development & Maintenance:\nDesign, develop, and maintain new and existing GIS applications and services.\n\nDevelop front-end display systems for visualizing data served by back-end infrastructure.\n\nCreate custom workflow tools and add-ons to enhance user productivity.\n\nEnsure all developed software is robust, performs optimally, and meets functional requirements, including unit and system testing prior to production handover.\n\nGeospatial Data Management & Architecture:\nDesign, set up, and maintain processes for supporting various Market Place datasets.\n\nAssist in the development and management of enterprise geospatial data.\n\nPlan and update GIS applications and servers, ensuring job and function reliability.\n\nAdminister GIS systems, coordinating with systems administrators for updates and maintenance.\n\nIntegrate and design functionality to automate processes wherever appropriate.\n\nCollaboration & Quality Assurance:\nWork closely with other developers to integrate GIS functionality into customized stand-alone and web-based solutions.\n\nLiaise with partners and vendors for successful content and system integration.\n\nWork with Operations to ensure systems function without impeding existing products or processes.\n\nActively participate in quality reviews and strive to improve working practices.\n\nAssist with formal analysis of user requirements and provide accurate design documentation.\n\nSupport quality assurance testing, including the development and execution of test plans.\n\nProactively operate within managed projects, providing regular task updates and supporting project management processes.\n\nAssist in estimating the effort and time required for delegated tasks.\n\nLead projects as required and perform development activities for proof of concepts.\n\nWE ARE HOPING YOU HAVE\nUniversity degree or College diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.\n\nMinimum 3 years of professional GIS development experience.\n\nExpertise with ESRI ArcGIS products, specifically ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Server, and ArcSDE on PostgreSQL Server (10.x or more recent).\n\nStrong knowledge and technical experience with relational database management systems, big data concepts, and data structure optimization.\n\nProven development experience in GIS-based solutions and familiarity with geospatial data standards.\n\nExperience with data modeling and system design methodologies, including geodatabase design and administration.\n\nExperience in advanced geo-processing techniques.\n\nDemonstrated experience with deploying and testing customized web applications integrated with Esri products.\n\nDeep understanding of best principles and practices related to web application security.\n\nExperience developing and testing service-oriented architectures.\n\nExperience with major cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).\n\nCore Programming Languages: Experience with:\n\n.NET, C#, ASP.NET, MVC/Core.\n\nPython and the ArcGIS API for Python (ArcPy, Python API for ArcGIS).\n\nArcGIS APIs for JavaScript.\n\nNICE TO HAVE\nExperience with FME Workbench and Server technologies.\n\nSound technical knowledge of Geographic Information Systems beyond core development.\n\nExceptional written and verbal communication skills.\n\nStrong analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.\n\nAbility to manage multiple tasks under pressure and meet deadlines.\n\nA collaborative team player who pays strong attention to detail and accuracy.\n\nWell-developed organizational and documentation skills.\n\nAmbition and interest in contributing to new process improvements.\n\nDON’T MEET ALL THE REQUIREMENTS?
