Working for Pembina means working safely.\nOverview:\nCochin Pipeline, a subsidiary of Pembina U.S. Corporation, is actively hiring an Operations Technician in Albert Lea, Minnesota. Reporting to the Supervisor of Operations, the Technician supports the safe and reliable transportation of products on the Cochin Pipeline through inspection, maintenance, and troubleshooting activities.\nThe Cochin Pipeline is a strategically important condensate transportation system extending from Illinois to Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta. As part of Pembina’s Transmission & Extraction Operation Division, the asset is focused on delivering safe, reliable, and efficient operations while supporting customers through industry-leading pipeline infrastructure and a strong commitment to operational integrity and environmental stewardship.\nThe Transmission & Extraction Operations assets are responsible for the safe, reliable, and compliant transportation and extraction of hydrocarbons across Pembina’s integrated pipeline and facilities network. The asset delivers critical connectivity between upstream supply and downstream markets while maintaining a strong focus on asset integrity, operational discipline, and regulatory excellence.\nThis position is based in Albert Lea, MN, with an anticipated pay range of $35.00 to $40.00 per hour. Final compensation will be based on the successful candidate's qualifications and experience.\n Responsibilities may include but not limited to:\nChampion Pembina’s Zero by Choice safety culture and Life Saving Rules by embedding physical, psychological, and cyber safety into all work practices while taking personal accountability to maintain compliance, support audit readiness, proactively identify risks, and protect our people, assets, and data;\nWork as part of a team with a primary role as a technician, assisting in pump station and meter station operations, and supporting other trades when and where needed;Perform routine pipeline operations and maintenance activities, including troubleshooting failures, repair and maintenance of mechanical equipment, electrical troubleshooting and repair, and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) system troubleshooting, diagnostics, maintenance, and minor programming modifications to support reliable facility operations;\nSupport the operation, maintenance, testing, and commissioning of automation, control, and instrumentation systems, including PLCs, RTUs, HMI interfaces, and associated control equipment;Locate and mark Cochin facilities per Pembina's Damage Prevention Program and One-Call procedures prior to and during excavation;\nEnsure all maintenance and operations duties are completed safely, in compliance with Pembina's procedures, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices;Provide oversight and inspection to ensure asset protection and compliance with company procedures for excavation activities near pipeline facilities;\nParticipate in a 7-day on-call rotation, responding as required to equipment, automation, control system, and operational problems;Occasional overnight travel will be required;Demonstrate the ability and willingness to work overtime as needed;Maintain safe, reliable, and efficient operations of facilities and control systems;Work effectively within a team environment and contribute to a positive workplace culture;\nAbility to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated areas, including respirator, hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, fire-resistant clothing, heeled safety-toe boots, and hearing protection;Communicate safety concerns and operational risks to Managers and the Safety Department;Demonstrate effective decision-making, critical thinking, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills;\nDisplay a willingness and desire to work outdoors in varying weather conditions;\nPerform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor; and\nParticipate in and support an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace. \nQualifications:\n2+ years’ work experience, with in the energy industry preferred;\nHands-on experience with various computer applications;\nStrong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills;\nSelf-motivated, ability to work under limited supervision;\nAbility to work well in a team coupled with a proven track record of success of positively interfacing with Field, Engineering, and Technical Support personnel;\nAbility to perform and direct safe and efficient operations in a fast-paced environment;\nResults oriented with a flexible & adaptable approach to change; and\nPossess a valid driver's license.\nPembina offers competitive compensation (base plus incentive bonus), a comprehensive benefits program including 401(k), competitive health benefits including Parental Leave - up to 12 weeks of paid leave for eligible employees, flexible work arrangements for applicable positions, and tuition reimbursement in a work environment that is based on mutual respect, honesty, and integrity.\nThis “Safety-Sensitive” position requires successful completion of Pre-Employment screening, which may include a Background check, Drug and Alcohol Testing (including marijuana metabolites), a Fit-For-Duty assessment, and verification of a valid driver's license.\nMust live within 60 miles of Albert Lea, MN.\nThe successful candidate must be legally able to work in the country of the position.
