This significantly simplifies the shower installation process for building professionals and contractors, reducing installation time and labor costs while delivering high-quality, customizable solutions for residential and institutional projects.\nAbout the Role\nThe primary goal of the Commercial Applications Engineer is to speed up and improve the request-to-quote process so the client wins more commercial and institutional work. This role sits between Sales and Engineering and owns the technical side of every commercial opportunity: reviewing plans, completing take-offs, specifying the right of the client products and building accurate quotes. A typical day will be spent reviewing architectural drawings and bid packages, preparing quotes and submittals, and working by phone, email and video with contractors, architects, distributors and our sales team.\nWhat you’ll do\nTake-Offs and Plan Review\nReview bid packages, architectural plans, bathroom layouts and specifications for commercial, multifamily and institutional projects.\nComplete accurate take-offs of shower pans, curbs, drains, benches, niches, shelves and accessories from drawings (PDF/CAD).\nIdentify scope gaps, custom sizes, drain locations and accessibility (ADA/barrier-free) requirements early, and raise RFIs where needed.\nSpecifications and Submittals\nSelect the right standard or custom Tile Redi products to meet project, code and performance requirements.\nPrepare submittal packages, product data sheets, shop drawings and spec sections for architects and contractors.\nRecommend value-engineered alternatives that save installers time, labor or cost.\nQuoting\nBuild complete, accurate quotes covering product, custom work, freight and lead times.\nWork with Operations and Order Management to confirm pricing, production capacity and delivery dates for custom and large orders.\nMaintain quoting templates, standard pricing tools and a library of common commercial configurations.\nTechnical Sales Support\nAct as the technical point of contact for contractors, architects, designers, distributors and the sales team during the bid stage.\nJoin sales calls and virtual project meetings to explain product, installation and compliance details.\nSupport quote follow-up, revisions and technical questions through to purchase order.\nHand off awarded projects to Order Management and Operations with a clear scope, specification and drawings\nWhat You Bring\nDegree or technical diploma in Mechanical, Civil, Architectural or ConstructionEngineering, or equivalent experience.\n\n3-5 years of experience in estimating, applications engineering, technical sales or project engineering in building products or construction.\nProven ability to complete accurate take-offs from architectural and constructiondrawings.\n\nWorking knowledge of plumbing, waterproofing and accessibility (ADA) requirements for showers and wet areas.\nTechnical Skills: Strong Excel skills; experience with take-off or PDF markup software (e.g. Bluebeam) and AutoCAD; familiarity with CRM, Shopify and QuickBooks a plus.\nCommercial awareness of cost, margin and risk, and how they shape a winning quote.\nStrong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple live quotes against deadlines.\nClear written and verbal communication, able to explain technical detail to contractors and non-technical customers.\nAbility to collaborate across sales, engineering, operations and finance teams.\nOur Hiring Process & AI Disclaimer: We use AI tools to streamline our application process-including an initial conversation with an AI Interviewer.
