This role is responsible for component engineering activities, including component selection, Approved Vendor List (AVL) and lifecycle risk management, as well as the creation, maintenance, and validation of schematic symbols, PCB footprints, and 3D models. The engineer will work closely with Hardware, PCB Layout, Procurement, Component, Manufacturing, Quality, and suppliers to ensure high-quality component data, library integrity, and efficient product development.\nResponsibilities\nComponent Engineering:\nSelect, evaluate components based on technical, environmental, and application requirements.\nAssign and manage component part numbers in accordance with the Company PN scheme.\nMaintain Approved Vendor Lists (AVL) accuracy and compliance while driving component standardization and alternate sourcing initiatives.\nAlign component selection with business strategy, including PML (Preferred Manufacturer List), supply continuity, and standardization goals.\nMonitor component lifecycle (Active, NRND, EOL) and manage PCN/obsolescence impact.\nSupport component risk mitigation through multi-sourcing, last-time buys, and redesign activities.\nEnsure compliance with regulatory and environmental requirements (e.g., RoHS, REACH, conflict minerals).\nPerform BOM scrubbing to proactively identify lifecycle, obsolescence, and compliance risks.\nSupport NPI and collaborate with design, procurement, quality, manufacturing, and suppliers on component-related issues.\nMaintain accurate component data and documentation in PLM/SAP systems. \nECAD Library Management:\nCreate and maintain schematic symbols, PCB footprints in accordance with IPC standards and company guidelines. \nSupport 3D model creation for PCB components.\nVerify library accuracy through reviews, quality checks, and validation before library release. \nMaintain ECAD library standards, naming conventions and documentation. \nWork with cross-functional engineering teams to understand component requirements and ensure library consistency.\nReview manufacturer datasheets to develop accurate library components.\nResolve library-related issues encountered during schematic capture and PCB layout design.\nParticipate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance ECAD library quality, standardization and processes.\nRequirements\nBachelor’s Degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics.\nMinimum 3-5 years of experience as a Component Engineer and ECAD librarian.\nStrong knowledge of EEE components with the ability to interpret datasheets, PCNs, and reliability data.\nFamiliarity with AVL management, component lifecycle, and obsolescence management process.\nExperience in BOM analysis or scrubbing for risk identification.\nExperience with PLM/ SAP systems.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving and data management skills.\nAbility to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities effectively in a dynamic environment.\nGood communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint).\nExperience with Silicon Expert, HIS or other data analysis tools.\nFamiliar
