As an Operations Support Technician, you will assist with the physical and digital movement of goods while helping maintain a secure and compliant workplace. We are looking for a proactive problem-solver with a customer-service mindset who is eager to learn complex systems and works well in a team-oriented environment. This is an onsite Monday-Friday role, scheduled from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, with occasional weekday on-call responsibilities to address urgent safety and shipping needs.\nResponsibilities\nLogistics and Warehouse Support\nMaintain an organized and efficient warehouse by using 5S standards (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) to ensure a clean and efficient workspace.\nProcess domestic and international shipments using FedEx software, ensuring accurate labeling, proper HTS codes, and required documentation.\nExecute daily SAP transactions, including Goods Receipts, Stock Transport Orders (STOs), Purchase Orders, and Service Confirmations.\nCoordinate with vendors and internal teams to ensure timely receipt, verification, and proper staging of incoming materials.\nFollow strict guidelines for the specialized packaging and labeling required for shipping hazardous materials by land and air.\nSafely move industrial drums and heavy containers using appropriate equipment such as pallet jacks and drum dollies.\nEHS and Emergency Response Support\n Act as a peer mentor on the floor, promoting a culture of safety by guiding and educating employees on proper material handling and PPE usage in a constructive, non-confrontational manner.\nJoin the EHS Manager in daily contractor safety walks and facility audits to help identify and mitigate potential hazards.\nServe as an active member of the ERT, responding to onsite medical emergencies and leading chemical spill cleanups.\nAssist with labeling waste streams and maintaining hazardous waste accumulation areas in compliance with RCRA and DOT regulations.\nServe as a backup point of contact for DEQ and other government inspectors during site visits.\nAdministrative and Digital Tracking\nMaintain safety logs, shipping reports, and inventory data using Microsoft Excel and Word.\nUtilize Brightly software to log safety inspections and manage facility compliance data.\nEnsure all hazardous waste manifests and regulatory documents are accurately filed and tracked digitally.\nTraining and Professional Development\nWe are committed to professional growth. Comprehensive training will be provided for all specialized systems and certifications, including:\nSAP logistics modules and FedEx shipping platforms.\nIATA Dangerous Goods Certification (Required within 90 days).\nRCRA and DOT Hazardous Materials certifications.\nFirst Aid/CPR/AED certification.\nQualifications\nReliability and punctuality to support emergency response and shipping deadlines.\nStrong organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail to manage inventory and maintain documentation.\nEffective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Planning, Procurement, and R&D.\nAbility to safely lift up to 50 lbs and handle 55-gallon drums using appropriate moving equipment\nAbility to wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (including respirators and chemical-resistant gear) without restriction when performing safety or response duties.\nLocation\nThis role requires on-site work at our Durham, NC campus.\nTravel\nNone\nCompensation & Benefits\nThe base pay range that the Company reasonably expects to pay for this position in North Carolina is $22-26 per hour; the pay ultimately offered may vary based on business considerations, including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and education.
