This position requires excellent customer service skills along with strong technical skills to install, document, configure, troubleshoot, and repair the deployed solutions. Most of the work will be performed at customer sites.\nResponsibilities\nThe individual in this position will work independently and as part of a team to build, install, and troubleshoot complex computer and network systems. \nProvide hands-on deployment of Penguin Computing's solutions.\nPerform in-factory and on-site racking and cabling, software installation, systems configuration, systems verification, etc.\nInstall, configure, and tune software applications and software-defined solutions.\nTest and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues.\nParticipate in Penguin Computing's solutions development as it relates to implementation and deployment.\nParticipate in the development and delivery of documentation and training for Penguin Computing's solutions.\nParticipate in growing Penguin Computing's technical expertise through peer education and other means.\nContribute technical expertise to commercial and public sector sales opportunities.\nAssist local technical support and repair engineers.\nFully document processes, procedures, and all work performed.\nLifting and carrying up to 30 lbs.\nTravel up to 60% required.\nQualifications\nBachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer/Electrical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).\n7+ years of hands-on experience with UNIX/Linux server environments.\nExperience with Linux TCP/IP configuration.\nSkills with Linux md and lvm software RAID technologies.\nDeep knowledge of other Linux basics such as systemd, firewalld and kickstart installation.\nOutstanding verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.\nUS citizenship required for this position.\nPreferred Qualifications\nRed Hat RHCSA or SUSE Certified Engineer or equivalent.\nSkills with automation technologies such as Ansible or Puppet.\nExperience with Linux-hosted virtual machines.\nExperience working with software-defined storage such as Ceph and Lustre.\nFamiliarity with NOS such as Cumulus or Sonic.\nExperience with high-speed networks, like InfiniBand and Omni-Path Architecture (OPA).\nFamiliarity with accelerated computing technologies (e.g., GPUs).\nSkill with High-Performance Computing (HPC) provisioning systems such as ClusterWare, Cobbler, xCAT or Bright.\nExperience installing or configuring HPC job schedulers such as Slurm RunAI or PBS.\nProven application build, installation, and configuration skills, including familiarity with the GNU toolchain.\nFamiliarity with any number of parallel applications available for industry verticals (e.g., ANSYS, WRF, LS-DYNA, Gaussian, Matlab, etc.).\nExperience with MPI libraries (MPICH, MVAPICH, and OpenMPI).\nSecurity clearance or ability to obtain U.S. security clearance.\nAbility to help grow a vibrant, leading edge, professional services organization.\nLocation\nThis is a hybrid position located in Durham, NC. Open to remote within the US for the right candidate.\nTravel\nUp to 60% travel is required.\nCompensation & Benefits\nThe base pay range that the Company reasonably expects to pay for this position in the United States is $119,000 - $148,000; the pay ultimately offered may vary based on business considerations, including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and education. The position is bonus-eligible, and there are medical, dental, and vision benefits available.
