This role supports a superior quality guest experience by maintaining the property’s physical integrity, mechanical systems, and public areas in accordance with hotel standards. The Supervisor leads a team of maintenance professionals, manages work order execution, and assists in implementing preventative maintenance programs and safety compliance.\nESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS\nTeam Leadership & Supervision\nSupervise, train, and evaluate engineering and maintenance staff. \nAssist in holding daily shift meetings with crew to communicate work schedules and hotel issues. \nAssign and oversee daily work orders and ensure timely, quality completion. \nPromote a culture of safety, teamwork, and exceptional service. \nMaintain daily work schedules for each engineer to ensure adequate coverage. \nCross train each engineer to ensure experience is shared within the group. \nAssist Chief Engineer in ensuring compliance with all applicable policies and procedures. \nAssist Chief Engineer with interviewing prospective candidates for engineer positions. \nHelp create a working environment that is safe, challenging and positive. \nGuest Service & Communication\nRespond professionally to guest room maintenance issues. \nEnsure minimal disruption to guests during repair activities. \nCommunicate regularly with hotel leadership regarding maintenance updates and projects. \nPreventive Maintenance & Facility Operations\nSchedule, implement, and monitor the preventive maintenance program for guest rooms, equipment, and public spaces. \nEnsure systems such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, elevators, and fire safety are regularly inspected and maintained. \nConduct routine property inspections and address deficiencies proactively. \nSupport the Housekeeping Manager with the Deep Clean Projects. \nRepair and Work Order Management\nDiagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues promptly. \nManage the hotel’s maintenance request system and prioritize repairs based on guest impact and operational needs. \nCoordinate emergency repairs efficiently and effectively. \nBe on call as assigned. \nCompliance & Safety\nMake safety your number one priority for employees, guests, and vendors. \nEnsure adherence to OSHA, NFPA, ADA, and local regulatory codes. \nMaintain records for safety checks, life safety systems, chemical handling, and inspections. \nEnforce hotel safety standards and lead safety drills or emergency response as needed. \nHold departmental safety meetings at least once per month and after a major safety incident. \nSupport the Safety Committee through participation and follow up on reported safety issues. \nVendor and Project Coordination\nWork with third-party contractors and service providers for specialized maintenance or renovation projects. \nReview bids and supervise contracted work for quality and timeliness. \nSustainability & Energy Efficiency\nMonitor utility usage and recommend cost-saving and sustainability measures. \nSupport the hotel’s environmental initiatives, such as energy conservation and waste reduction. \nBudget & Inventory Management\nAssist with maintenance budget planning and expense tracking. \nMaintain adequate inventory of supplies, parts, and tools. \nApprove purchase orders and monitor vendor performance. \nMaintain labor and supplies cost within budget \nRequirements\nESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS\nMinimum of three years experience in building maintenance. \nExperience with diagnosing problems with general repairs, carpentry, HVAC, plumbing, painting, refrigeration, electrical, video, and commercial kitchen systems. \nCertification and/or working knowledge in one or more of the following: HVAC, refrigeration, or electrical. \nCapable of utilizing all tools and diagnostic procedures. \nMust possess very good interpersonal and communication skills; will be interfacing with a high percentage of guests as well as other staff members. \nMust be flexible to work all shifts, may be required to work overtime on occasion when the department is short of personal due to illness or vacation, etc. \nThe ability to listen, empathize, be helpful in all situations and make sound decisions toward the resolution of a potential problem.
