Job will include accounting and administrative duties for The Lodge and Mountain Modern and any other properties to facilitate the accounting and administrative work. Human resource and administrative tasks as required and needed. Travel to other properties required as necessary.\nReporting to the Hotel Controller, the Assistant Controller serves as a partner to the General Manager and department heads, ensuring adherence to company policies, internal controls, and financial objectives.\nESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS\nFinancial Operations & Reporting\nManage month-end closing process, to produce accurate and timely financial statements\nMaintain balance sheet account reconciliations in accordance with company standards\nAssist with annual budget and monthly forecast\nAssist with capital project approvals and expense tracking\nRevenue & Audit Oversight\nManage daily income audit ensuring accuracy of PMS/POS postings and investigate discrepancies\nResearch and respond to guest chargeback claims and coordinate with Front Office team\nAccounts Payable & Receivable\nEnsure accounts payable are processed accurately and paid timely\nMaintain vendor relationships and professionally resolve billing discrepancies\nOversee accounts receivable processes, including billing, collections, and aging management for both operating and guest receivables\nPartner with sales team to ensure accurate group invoices and timely collections including group deposits\nCash Management & Compliance\nAdminister cash handling procedures, bank deposits, change orders, petty cash, and reconciliations\nPrepare and timely file all sales, lodging, and other taxes\nOversee contractors and vendors by maintaining current insurance and required agreements are on file\nAdministrative & Cross-Functional Support\nEnsure bi-weekly payroll is accurate and submitted timely in conjunction with General Manager\nOversee weekly labor and AR meetings\nActively participate in properties’ leadership and staff meetings\nAssist in driving the financial performance of the property in conjunction with General Manager\nSpecial projects, system implementations, and process improvements as necessary\nAdditional duties as assigned by hotel or corporate management\nRequirements\nESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS\nBachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance preferred, or a combination of education and experience\n5 years of accounting experience, with hospitality industry expierence required\nKnowledge of GAAP and USALI hotel accounting practices\nExperience with PMS, POS, and accounting systems (e.g., M3, Opera, Sage, or similar)\nIntermediate to advanced computer skills including Excel and MS Office\nStrong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS\nThe physical demands & work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
