The Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the uninterrupted operation of machinery and equipment essential for the production of aluminum castings. This position requires a skilled and versatile individual capable of performing various maintenance tasks, troubleshooting issues, and implementing preventative maintenance measures to optimize plant efficiency and safety.\nResponsibilities\nTechnical\nPerform preventative and repair maintenance on industrial machinery, equipment, physical structures, pipe and electrical systems, loaders and cranes to extend equipment lifespan and optimize performance \nDismantle, install, inspect and test machinery and equipment \nSet up and operate machine tools such as grinder and drill \nClean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears and other machinery or rolling stock parts \nLay out, assemble, install and maintain pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment \nInstall and maintain electrical apparatus and components, but only as qualified to do so by prior training or experience \nInstall new machinery and equipment, ensuring proper alignment and functionality \nOperate cutting torch or welding equipment to cut and join metal parts \nDetect machine or equipment malfunction and diagnose to determine cause and minimize production interruptions (troubleshoot) \nInspect, repair, and maintain electrical systems, including motors, controls and PLC’s \nCalibrate machines to meet production specifications and quality standards \nOrganizational\nMaintain accurate digital records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment history \nMaintain machinery and equipment inventories \nMaintain personal and Company tool inventories \nMaintain work area in a safe, neat and orderly condition \nUtilize spare parts inventory system \nWork with management to come up with ideas to improve processes \nUnderstand and apply company policies and procedures \nParticipate in meetings effectively \nUtilize support systems associated with maintenance \nUsing the CMMS, identify and suggest corrective actions for patterned failures \nAid the maintenance department in reaching an RCM and WCM future state \nOther duties as assigned \nQualifications\nEducation\nHigh school diploma or equivalent;
