For additional information on remote work at Penn State, see Notice to Out of State Applicants.\nJOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS\nDevelop and design methods and procedures for collecting, organizing, interpreting, and classifying information for input into computer and retrieval from computer, utilizing knowledge of symbolic language, optical or pattern recognition, database construction, and retrieval methods\nDevelop alternate designs to resolve problems in input, storage, or retrieval of information, utilizing knowledge of electronic data processing principles, mathematics, and computer capabilities\nPerform needs assessment activities\nDevelop specifications for data capture and input; monitor input to ensure consistency, quality, and integrity of data\nProgram, debug, and run a variety of scheduled and ad hoc listings, summaries, statistics, labels, and other electronic and/or presentation reports\nMake recommendations for on-line program enhancements; assist in testing and implementation of modifications and enhancements.\nQualifications\nBachelor’s, master’s, or equivalent experience (two years or more) in statistics, and/or research data collection, management, and analysis; knowledge of and experience with data management software\nSupervisory Relationships\nThis position will be supervised by the Principal Investigator/Evaluator.\nRequired Skills and Knowledge\nKnowledge of structured programming, testing, and debugging techniques\nAbility to design and implement systems necessary to collect, maintain, and analyze data\nAbility to implement and troubleshoot programming changes and modifications\nAbility to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing\nAbility to verify data input and correct errors\nKnowledge of database construction, management, and retrieval methods\nAbility to resolve data input, storage and/or retrieval problems and to design solutions and modifications\nKnowledge of computer data processing principles\nAbility to create data capture and input specifications\nBACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES\nEmployment with the University will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies.CAMPUS SECURITY CRIME STATISTICS\nPursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR).
