For additional information on remote work at Penn State, see Notice to Out of State Applicants.\nJOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS\nThe Advanced Manufacturing and Materials Engineering Division of Applied Research Lab (ARL) is looking for a highly motivated Research and Development Engineer Intern to assist with various activities in the Materials Science Division.\nARL is an authorized DoD SkillBridge partner and welcomes all transitioning military members to apply.\nTypical duties for a broad range of programs involving gear train technology, additive manufacturing, powder processing, cold spray manufacturing, robotics, testing, modeling and simulation, and characterization include assisting with:\nMaterial synthesis\nDevice fabrication\nProcess simulation for fabrication\nDevelopment of advanced materials and material systems \nStudents Majoring in the following are encouraged to apply:\nEngineering, Welding and Metal Fabrication Technology programs\nMaterials Science and Engineering (MATSE)\nMechanical Engineering\nEngineering Science\nAerospace engineering\nNuclear Engineering\nThe successful candidates will work up to 20 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters and 40 hours/week over the summer.
