This an office first position, at least 4 days in office.\nPosition Summary:\nAs a Penske Associate Data Platform Engineer/Platform Lead within the Digital Products organization, you will play a key role in designing, evolving, and supporting data platforms that enable our digital products and SaaS solutions.\nYou will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, system administrators, and operations teams, to ensure the seamless integration of development and operations activities.\nYou will contribute to platform design, troubleshoot complex production issues, and recommend improvements based on industry trends and product needs. This role requires a balance of deep technical expertise, product mindset, and the ability to operate effectively within a shared-responsibility model across Digital Products and Enterprise IT.\nThis position is based out of our corporate location in Reading, PA. This is an office-first position, in office at least 4 days a week.\nMajor Responsibilities:\nTechnology\nDesign and implement network and connectivity solutions supporting digital products and SaaS platforms\nTranslate product and engineering requirements into scalable, secure, and high-performing infrastructure designs\nArchitect and support hybrid and cloud-native networking solutions across cloud platforms and enterprise data centers\nEnsure high availability, resiliency, and performance of product-facing systems and services\nEvaluate and implement modern networking technologies (e.g., Service mesh, zero trust architectures)\nAnalyze, engineer, and optimize software-defined networking and cloud-based data communication solutions\nSolve complex technical problems involving distributed systems and multiple dependencies\nProject Management\nDevelop implementation plans, testing strategies, and timelines for complex, cross-functional initiatives\nPartner with product and engineering teams throughout the product lifecycle, from design through production\nLead initiatives from concept through deployment and ongoing optimization\nContribute to technology and infrastructure roadmaps aligned to product strategy\nSupport continuous delivery through automation and repeatable infrastructure practices\nAnalytics\nMonitor and analyze system, network, and application performance across product environments\nEstablish baselines and performance benchmarks aligned to product SLAs/SLOs\nAnalyze traffic patterns, latency, and system behavior to optimize performance and cost\nSupport capacity planning, forecasting, and scaling strategies\nLead and support disaster recovery planning and resilience testing across environments\nCustomer Experience\nCollaborate with product teams, stakeholders, and enterprise partners to understand current and future needs\nAct as a technical advisor on performance, reliability, and scalability of product platforms\nPartner with Enterprise IT teams to align on standards, security, and infrastructure capabilities\nCommunicate effectively across technical and non-technical stakeholders\nParticipate in incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement efforts\nOther projects as assigned by leadership\nQualifications:\nBachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience required\n7+ years’ experience as a DevOps Engineer\n2+ years leading organizational implementations of DevOps platforms and pipelines.\nProven experience as a DevOps Architect or similar role, designing and implementing DevOps practices in complex software development environments.\nStrong knowledge of DevOps principles, continuous integration, continuous delivery, and infrastructure automation\nHands-on experience with containerization technologies like Docker and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes, OpenShift\nSolid understanding of cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP). Hands on experience with cloud infrastructure a plus.\nFamiliarity with monitoring and logging tools, such as Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack\nDeep knowledge of Agile principles and practices and the ability to transfer that understanding at all levels of the organization.\nDevelop and maintain documentation for DevOps processes, procedures, and architecture to facilitate knowledge sharing and onboarding of new team members.\nIdentify and resolve technical issues related to infrastructure, deployment, and release management in a timely manner.\nCollaborate with stakeholders to define “security as code” standards to enable security and compliance within the DevOps environment.\nMentor and provide guidance to software engineers and operations teams on DevOps best practices, automation, and deployment methodologies.\nAutomated collection of audit & compliance artifacts. Ensure compliance with industry standards such as PCI DSS, SOX & GDPR\nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.\nRelevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Certified Kubernetes Administrator) are a plus.\nAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional, matrixed environment\nStrong communication skills and ability to partner with both technical and non-technical stakeholders\nRegular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job\nWillingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required\nPhysical Requirements:\n-The physical and mental demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
