Partner with architects, developers, and platform teams to design and implement reliable, scalable, and secure integrations that connect IoT/data sources, analytics platforms, and front-end experiences.\nMajor Responsibilities:\nIntegration Design & Development\nDesign and implement integration solutions using REST APIs, messaging, and event streams to connect disparate IoT/data sources with analytics and Big Data platforms.\nApply standard patterns (request/response, pub/sub, async messaging, orchestration, choreography) to ensure resilient and scalable integrations.\nBuild and maintain reusable integration modules, connectors, and utilities using technologies such as Kafka, gRPC, GraphQL, and API gateways.\nBig Data & Web UI Integration\nArchitect backend integration layers that power data-driven web interfaces, ensuring seamless, governed data flow between UI components and Big Data systems.\nDesign streaming and batch data pipelines; optimize schemas, topics, and event contracts in partnership with product and data architecture teams.\nEnterprise API Management (Apigee) & API Enablement\nSupport and scale enterprise Apigee adoption-configure proxies, policies, caching, quotas, security, and monitoring for high-throughput workloads.\nEstablish and champion API design guidelines and governance; drive API performance, observability, and lifecycle management across teams.\nEvent-Driven & Asynchronous Systems\nDevelop producers/consumers and stream-processing apps using Kafka (or similar), including schema registry usage, topic design, and consumer group strategies.\nPromote event-driven architecture (EDA) practices and integrate EDA with microservices and analytical use cases.\nQuality, Security & Operational Excellence\nEmbed security by design (OAuth2, JWT, mTLS), secrets management, and zero-trust principles into integration components.\nImplement observability (structured logging, distributed tracing, metrics); contribute to CI/CD pipelines for automated tests, security checks, and deployments.\nParticipate in design reviews, code reviews, integration testing, and performance tuning; provide Tier-3 troubleshooting support.\nCollaboration & Leadership\nTranslate target architecture and reference models into detailed technical designs and roadmaps.\nCollaborate across cloud and on-prem environments; align with enterprise standards and data governance.\nMentor developers and help uplift integration practices across product teams.\nOther projects and tasks as assigned.\n Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.\n10+ years in integration development/architecture with strong hands-on depth.\nProven experience with:\nREST APIs (JSON/XML) and web services architecture.\nKafka/Flink (or comparable messaging/event platforms).\nAPI gateways/management (Apigee strongly preferred; Kong, MuleSoft, etc. a plus).\nMicroservices development (Java/Spring Boot, Go, Python, or Node.js).\nSolid grasp of integration patterns and best practices (sync/async, resilience, idempotency, back-pressure, retries, DLQs).\nContainers and orchestration (Docker, familiarity with Kubernetes).\nCloud platform familiarity (AWS, Azure, or GCP).\nExperience with CI/CD (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab, etc.) and IaC-aware delivery.\nStrong analytical, debugging, communication, and documentation skills.\nExposure to GraphQL, gRPC, WebSockets.\nExperience with schema registries and event contract management.\nFamiliarity with observability stacks (ELK/OpenSearch, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry).\nAPI security/identity (OAuth2, OIDC, mTLS) and policy enforcement.\nUnderstanding of domain-driven design (DDD) and data mesh concepts.\nRegular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job\nWillingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required.\nPhysical Requirements:\nThe physical and mental demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
