The Solution Architect supports project teams by translating functional needs into scalable, maintainable, and secure technical designs across our digital solutions landscape.\nWhat you will be doing:\nWe are seeking a skilled and collaborative Solution Architect with a strong track record of designing scalable, secure, and maintainable technical solutions.\nAs a Solution Architect, you will be responsible for translating business and technical requirements into end-to-end solution designs that align with enterprise architecture standards. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure architectural integrity throughout the development lifecycle and deliver value through well-structured, cost-effective solutions.\nPenske Responsibilities:\nDesign and document solution architectures that align with enterprise standards and meet business and technical requirements.\nDevelop solution-level design patterns, guidelines, and best practices to ensure consistency and reusability.\nEnsure scalability, performance, security, and maintainability of systems through thoughtful architectural decisions.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to align individual project solutions with broader enterprise goals.\nProvide technical insights to support decision-making during solution planning and delivery.\nParticipate in architecture reviews and support compliance with architectural governance.\nMentor developers and junior architects to uplift technical delivery and solution quality.\nSupport the evaluation and integration of modern technologies and cloud-native services into solution designs.\nContribute to proof-of-concept (PoC) efforts to validate architectural approaches before adoption.\nAdvocate for lean and agile practices to streamline design and implementation processes.\nAssist in aligning project outcomes with security, regulatory, and enterprise policy requirements.\nOther projects and tasks as assigned.\nPenske Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.\n10+ years of experience designing and implementing software solutions across diverse technology stacks.\nExperience working within or closely with an Enterprise Architecture or solution governance practice.\nSolid background in solution architecture, integration design, and modern application patterns.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate and recommend technical approaches.\nHands-on experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes or OpenShift.\nWorking knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.\nFamiliarity with observability and monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Dynatrace.\nExcellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across business, development, and infrastructure teams.\nTechnical depth in areas such as microservices, APIs, cloud-native architectures, and CI/CD practices.\nRelevant certifications (e.g., AWS Architect, Kubernetes, TOGAF) are a plus.\nRegular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job\nWillingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required.\nPhysical Requirements:\nThe physical and mental demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
