The role will focus on finalising accurate configuration BOMs for centrifugal pumps, including Vertical Turbine Pumps, Solids Handling Pumps etc. The candidate should have a sound understanding of pump assemblies, material of construction, product variants, accessories and manufacturing processes. In addition to BOM engineering responsibilities, the candidate will support CAD activities such as 3D modelling, assembly modelling, detailed drawings and design documentation.\nThe selected candidate will work closely with global engineering counterparts to ensure that pump configurations are technically correct, manufacturable, properly documented and ready for downstream business processes such as quotation, order engineering, procurement and production.\nKey Responsibilities\nA. Pump Configuration BOM and SAP Engineering Documentation\nFinalize configuration BOMs for centrifugal pump product families such as Vertical Turbine Pumps, Solids Handling Pumps and other pump assemblies.\nCreate, review and update engineering BOMs in SAP based on approved product structures, configuration rules, materials, design standards and project requirements.\nSupport material creation, classification, and master data maintenance in SAP.\nValidate pump assemblies and sub-assemblies including pump components and accessories.\nEnsure correct material of construction and documentation based on application and product standards.\nCoordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve BOM gaps, missing/incorrect parts and duplicate items.\nSupport engineering change activities including part creation, BOM updates, drawing revisions.\nB. CAD Design and Engineering Support\nCreate and update 3D models, assemblies and manufacturing drawings of centrifugal pump components and assemblies.\nPrepare detailed drawings with appropriate dimensions, tolerances, GD&T, surface finish and machining requirements.\nPerform assembly checks, fit-up reviews and tolerance stack-up reviews before releasing drawings or BOM updates.\nSupport design standardization, VA/VE and product rationalization initiatives for pump platforms and configured products.\nCoordinate drawing corrections, model updates and engineering documentation changes with internal teams and global stakeholders.\nC. Manufacturing, Quality and Cross-Functional Collaboration\nApply good understanding of manufacturing processes such as casting, machining, fabrication, welding and assembly while finalizing drawings and BOMs.\nWork with manufacturing and sourcing teams to ensure that BOM structures and drawings are aligned with practical manufacturing and procurement processes.\nParticipate in technical discussions with overseas engineering teams through meetings, emails and design reviews.\nDocument engineering decisions clearly and maintain traceability for BOM changes, drawing updates and configuration corrections.\nRequired Qualifications and Experience\nB.E. / B.Tech. or M.E. / M.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering or related streams.\n2 to 6 years of relevant experience in centrifugal pump engineering, BOM engineering, product configuration, SAP engineering documentation and CAD design.\nHands-on experience with centrifugal pump assemblies especially Vertical Turbine Pumps, Solids Handling Pumps, or similar rotating equipment will be preferred.\nGood experience in SAP for engineering BOM creation, BOM maintenance and part master data.\nStrong understanding of pump construction, assemblies, configurations and material of construction.\nStrong CAD experience in SolidWorks or equivalent software, assembly modelling and 2D manufacturing drawings.\nTechnical Skills\nSkill Area Expected Capability\nPump Engineering Centrifugal pump assemblies, configuration options, pump components, MOC etc.\nBOM and SAP Engineering BOM creation, review, clean-up, configuration BOM finalization etc.\nCAD- 3D modelling, large assemblies and 2D drawings.\nGD&T and Tolerance Application of GD&T, tolerance stack-up, fitment checks and manufacturing drawing quality.\nManufacturing Casting, machining, fabrication, welding, assembly, surface finish, inspection and DFM/DFA considerations.\nDocumentation Clear engineering documentation and communication with global teams.\nOther Requirements\nStrong drawing reading and drawing interpretation skills.\nGood analytical ability to identify BOM gaps, configuration conflicts, drawing issues and manufacturing constraints.\nGood communication skills to work with internal teams, manufacturing locations and global engineering stakeholders.\nAbility to work with accuracy, ownership and attention to detail in data-sensitive engineering documentation activities.\nAbility to manage multiple priorities across BOM engineering, CAD updates, drawing releases etc.\nPreferred Background\nExperience in centrifugal pumps especially Vertical turbine pumps, solids handling pumps or rotating equipment.\nExposure to order engineering, configured products, SAP workflow, product standardization.\nExperience working with global teams, manufacturing plants and cross-functional stakeholders.\nEqual Opportunity Employer\nPentair is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
