You will serve as a technical resource to Product Management, Sales, Customer Service, Operations, and Engineering teams. The ideal candidate brings expertise in systems, manufacturing, troubleshooting, and customer support, with the ability to quickly diagnose technical issues and recommend practical solutions. This position reports to the Product Line Leader - Pumps and will play a key role in supporting customers, improving product quality and reliability, accelerating root cause investigations, and helping develop the next generation of technical talent within the organization.\nYou will:\nTechnical Support & Customer Engagement\nServe as a subject matter expert for assigned Pentair Pool product categories, supporting technical inquiries from Sales, Customer Service, Service Teams, distributors, and customers.\nAssist in diagnosing field issues and recommending corrective actions to improve customer satisfaction and product performance.\nSupport customer visits, troubleshooting efforts, and technical escalations as required.\n\nProduct Management Support\nProvide technical expertise for Product Management for the assigned product category, collaborating to translate market needs into technical specifications.\nEvaluate product opportunities, feature enhancements, and design changes from a technical feasibility and customer value perspective.\nSupport documentation reviews, technical specifications, and product performance analyses.\n\nQuality & Continuous Improvement\nPartner with manufacturing and quality teams to investigate field failures and product issues.\nLead or support root cause analyses and corrective action activities.\nIdentify recurring issues and recommend product, process, or supplier improvements to improve reliability and reduce warranty costs.\n\nCompetitive Benchmarking\nConduct competitive product teardowns and technical evaluations.\nDocument competitive insights, design approaches, strengths, weaknesses, and emerging technologies.\nProvide recommendations to support product roadmap and differentiation strategies.\n\nKnowledge Transfer & Capability Building\nDevelop technical documentation, troubleshooting guides, and best practices to preserve organizational knowledge.\nSupport technical training for internal teams, distributors, and customers as needed.\n\nAdditional Support\nAssist with factory projects, component evaluations, validation activities, and sustaining engineering initiatives.\nSupport special projects and cross-functional activities as business needs require.\n\nKey Qualifications:\nBS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline; electromechanical experience preferred.\n5+ years of experience in pool equipment, electromechanical systems, connected products, water treatment, heating, or related product categories.\nStrong understanding of product system design, performance, controls, manufacturing processes, and field application requirements.\nDemonstrated experience with root cause analysis, product troubleshooting, and quality improvement initiatives.\nAbility to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.\nExperience working directly with customers, service organizations, and manufacturing teams.\nStrong problem-solving skills and ability to operate independently in a part-time advisory capacity.\nFamiliarity with applicable regulatory, safety, and certification requirements for North American product markets preferred.\nExperience conducting competitive benchmarking and product teardowns.\nCompensation:\nFor this full-time position working at this location, the anticipated annualized base pay range will be from $82300 - $152800 / year. At Pentair, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the pay range. Pentair considers various factors in determining actual compensation for this position at the expected location. Actual compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, work location, and other relevant business or organizational needs.
