We do the heavy lifting of data collection and standardization to enable companies to build and scale innovative, compliant data solutions.\nAs an IT and Security Specialist at PDL, you’ll help with security, compliance, tools administration, helpdesk support, and other information technology needs. You’ll work closely with our IT & Security Engineer, report to the VP of Finance & Operations, and partner closely with different departments across the company.\nWe are an intentionally smaller data company that believes revenue can scale without significant headcount (and therefore cost) increases. We are both fully profitable and growing, and we are looking for the next person to play a role in the connective tissue that keeps everyone at PDL successful and safe.\nWe believe you can take security and compliance seriously while still having a fun and appropriately unhinged remote workplace. The ideal candidate for this role has worked on an IT and/or security team for a fully remote environment, and values building systems and processes that make their coworkers’ lives easier.\nWe believe AI tools and workflows can be leveraged in the right places, but we are not looking for someone focused on implementing AI for the sake of implementing AI. Our people are our secret sauce, both with our customers and behind the scenes. We don't need AI to replace the human touch.\nRoles & Responsibilities\nCollaborate on the IT & Security project roadmap, helpdesk workflows, and prioritization process for cross-functional initiatives such as migrations, system rollouts, and security enhancements\n\nBuild and maintain a structured, automated, and audit-ready set of security and compliance processes, procedures, and protocols\n\nWork directly with product and engineering, and departmental stakeholders on shared security initiatives and clear project plans for complex technical changes\n\nAdminister and strengthen the company-wide authentication, access management standards, and disaster recovery processes for critical systems\n\nFacilitate vendor relationships, evaluations, contracts, and renewals to ensure tools spend is carefully and thoughtfully managed\n\nProvide hands-on helpdesk and endpoint support for a fully remote team, including device setup, security tooling, and troubleshooting\n\nRequired Skills & Experience\n3-5 years of hands-on experience in an IT, Security, or Technical Operations role\n\n3+ years of experience working in a fully remote environment\n\nExperience executing IT project roadmaps, vendor relationships, and enterprise system migrations or rollouts\n\nWorking knowledge of enterprise identity and access management, authentication standards, and disaster recovery planning\n\nStrong organizational and project management skills\n\nStrong written and verbal communication skills\n\nAbility to thrive with a great deal of autonomy and ownership in your role\n\nExperience working with data via multiple delivery methods\n\nAWS security (IAM, CloudTrail, Inspector, Organizations + SCP)\n\nSSO + identity provider (preferably Okta)\n\nCompliance automation (e.g., Vanta)\n\nBasic scripting (e.g., Python, Bash)\n\nDesired Skills & Experience\nPrevious experience at a data company is not required but is always appreciated\n\nRemote security tooling (Tailscale, SentinelOne, 1Password)\n\nExposure to infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Pulumi, Terraform)\n\nMonitoring and logging tools (e.g., Datadog)\n\nSalary: $120,000 - $140,000\nBenefits\nStock\n\nCompetitive Salaries\n\nUnlimited paid time off\n\nMedical, dental, & vision insurance\n\n401(k)\n\nHealth, fitness, and office stipends\n\nThe permanent ability to work wherever and however you want\n\nWhy People Data Labs?\nGreat People make great teams.
