Beyond executing test cases, the successful candidate will be expected to assess existing testing frameworks, identify coverage gaps, investigate defects, strengthen automated quality checks, and work closely with developers to prevent issues from reaching production.\nA key focus will be building and maintaining practical, reliable automated testing solutions using tools such as Vitest and Playwright, strengthening CI/CD quality gates, and validating integrations across APIs, databases, and connected business systems. As the platform expands its mobile-first Progressive Web App (PWA) capabilities, the successful candidate will also help extend testing approaches across mobile browsers, devices, and workflows.\nThis role is suited to a QA professional who can work independently, think critically about risk, and take ownership of the quality process while collaborating closely with the development team. The successful candidate will play an important role in establishing scalable QA practices as the client's technology platform grows.\nKey Role Deliverables\nEstablish, document, and maintain a practical, risk-based testing strategy across functional, regression, integration, exploratory, and non-functional testing.\nAssess, extend, and maintain automated test suites and frameworks using Vitest, Playwright, or transferable Cypress experience.\nOwn integration testing across application APIs, PostgreSQL databases, and connected business systems such as Xero, Microsoft Graph, and SignWell.\nStrengthen automated testing within CI/CD pipelines, including test execution, regression protection, flaky-test management, and release verification.\nDesign and implement proportionate performance and load testing for critical workflows, establishing baselines and investigating bottlenecks with developers.\nOwn regression testing, defect triage, and quality sign-off for application releases.\nInvestigate and fix targeted bugs in TypeScript and Node.js where appropriate, supported by automated tests and peer-reviewed pull requests.\nVerify data accuracy and security controls, including financial calculations, role-based access control (RBAC), audit logs, and multi-tenant data isolation.\nSupport application error tracking, health monitoring, and release-quality alerting to make production issues visible and actionable.\nWork closely with developers on testability, acceptance criteria, and appropriate test coverage for new features.\nExtend QA strategies and automation to mobile-first PWA workflows, including real-device and mobile-browser testing, offline synchronisation, installability, and notifications.\nTrack quality metrics, investigate recurring defects, and continuously improve quality control processes.\nUse AI-assisted tools to support test creation and bug investigation, while carefully reviewing the accuracy of generated outputs.\nMaintain clear testing documentation and communicate findings, risks, and release readiness to relevant stakeholders.\nEducation Requirement\nDegree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline preferred.\nRelevant software testing, QA, or test automation experience will be highly regarded.\nMinimum Years of Experience in Similar Role\nAt least 3 years of relevant software testing or QA experience, including hands-on test automation.\nExperience developing or maintaining automated testing frameworks for web applications.\nDemonstrated capability across test strategy, automation, integration testing, and release quality.\nExperience working independently and collaborating closely with developers in an Agile development environment will be advantageous.\nPractical capability, technical depth, and the ability to take ownership of quality outcomes will be considered alongside total years of experience.\nTechnical System Experience\nTest Automation: Vitest and Playwright; strong transferable experience with Cypress may also be considered.\nProgramming: Strong TypeScript/JavaScript skills, with experience working with Next.js and Node.js codebases.\nAPI and Integration Testing: REST API and contract testing using tools such as Postman/Newman, Bruno, or Playwright API testing.\nDatabases: Strong SQL skills and experience validating data integrity in PostgreSQL, including row-level security and tenant-isolation testing.\nCI/CD: Experience with GitHub Actions or similar pipelines, automated quality gates, regression protection, and release verification.\nPerformance Testing: Familiarity with tools such as k6 or JMeter.\nMobile/PWA Testing: Experience testing mobile-first web applications, responsive workflows, mobile browsers, and PWA functionality.\nAI-Assisted Testing: Experience using AI tools such as Claude Code to support test creation, code investigation, and debugging.\n Quality Monitoring: experience, including test automation.\nHands-on experience developing, maintaining, or improving automated tests for web applications.\nStrong TypeScript/JavaScript capability and experience with Playwright, Vitest, or equivalent automation frameworks.\nExperience with API testing, integration testing, and validating database interactions.\nWorking knowledge of SQL and database testing, ideally with PostgreSQL.\nExperience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.\nAbility to develop a risk-based testing approach, identify coverage gaps, and prioritise critical
